No, we were 30 points down during the third quarter. 1995 second semi. Still a brilliant comeback in a final.

I'm talking defensively. It was WIDE open so many times tonight.

Right - defensively. Usually our fatside wingers are decent at holding width/coming across into the middle but agreed we were a bit like moths to the flame all rushing to get to a side to clog space.

Dion, Jacob and Tim aren't great on the spread either way and because of our outnumber in our forwards, when we did turn it over/it rebounded out, they were able to raffle with their numbers, which pulled another one or 2 of of the zone and we all shifted boundary side to cover rather than centre/inside as you said. We probably could have done a better job of equalising forward of the ball, to hopefully slow it on the way out and cover more options in the middle. Will come in time.

What was on the line in this game? Not much. Two shite teams , playing shite. I still get cranky thinking about Richo getting pushed into the fence in Sydney and doing his knee. ****ing dirty , both acts the same .

Couldn't be more different. One was in a marking contest and the push came during the contest and in the field of play - the issue was the fence's proximity to the boundary line. Naturally they fixed it that same week. The Mansell bump was absolutely fine and happens frequently in most games - players getting bumped out of play. Lalor probably wishes he bumped the Cats player instead of tackling him... he'd still be playing.
