Media has made a lot of noise about how bs it is and it hasn't really helped scoring. With shocking gone to suck Scott's schlong it will be the first rule gone as we won't play finals.

Persist, persist, persist with Dow, Ralphsmith, CCJ, Garthwaite, Rioli, Mansell. Nothing to be gained by dropping any of them.
And hire a skills coach, please.

We need to persist with all of these guys and keep playing them. But the reality is until they have played 60+ games each we won't be challenging for finals. Many are expecting us to challenge next year, we won't be whilst playing kids.

All the undisciplined acts that men who are near the end resort to.
Late tackles, high tackles - second to the ball and skills have diminished.
Know his prep has been limited, but he's way off it and has evaded scrutiny all season from most.

Been bad since that mid season ankle injury
Would give him next year and re assess but I think it would be his last

Even with all the adversity last year, there was still an aura or something and you felt we could hit the finals with some form and momentum.
This season, it just hasn’t felt that way. We’ve been smashed by top8 teams and it never felt like we were holding back an extra gear ready to up the ante for finals.
Maybe it’s an inevitable mental fatigue after several finals campaigns? Maybe it’s a gradual decline from a team past it’s peak with too much success for the usual personnel turnover and replacement? Maybe it’s a subtle loss in team connection with the loss of Mrs Hardwick?
Whatever. We’ve had all season to realise our forward 50 entry and structure has been shit.
I hate the apparent randomness of rules interpretation by the umpires. I used to think newcomers to the sport were thick when you had to constantly explain the rules of the game to them, but now I realise that our rules are far from simple and consistent.
It was good to keep the kids in this week. Hopefully they felt like it was a final, since who knows when they’ll experience an actual one?

Midfield is trash, old , slow and unskilled.
Cotchin , Lambert and Edwards are done and are plodding along getting nothing possessions. Poor Prestia and Graham are left doing it all with Prestia getting the hard tag bc he's our only weapon. The kids were terrible tonight, but with no senior support you can't blame them.
Garthwaite when the ball is in the air resembles a baby giraffe on 3 legs and when the ball is on the ground he looks like a venomless spider with one right leg and two left legs. CCJ is not a ruckmens arseh*le and needs to be played as a forward. Rioli Jr is not ready and should only play against bottom 4 sides , which we're heading if with don't get a decent midfield in asap. Still had my hopes in making finals yesterday whilst it was mathematically possible, but we're done now.
Giants to their credit looked like the best side I've seen all year. They were bigger , stronger , faster and more skilled than us by the length of the Bathurst straight.

As a supporter, after an amazing decade (2012-2021) I'm exhausted. I can't imagine how our senior players feel.

Pretty hard to watch tbh. Some high salary players contributed little tonight in what was a must win game. I don't see much in some of the younger players like Rioli Jr, Ralphsmith or Dow, they showed some glimpses when game was over but I would have liked to see more when the game was hot.
Yes we have some players out but based on tonight and the last 6 or so games it might be time for a re-build. If Dimma turns this around though and we're top 4 next year he deserves a statue.

Man I hope so, I just find some many of the little things about the rule so infuriating. Random play on calls against the ball carrier when they haven’t moved, slow or no play on calls when a player has clearly run off the mark, set shots at goal that are basically next to the man on the mark. Does my head in. Rant over lol.
