If you choose to bat like a treacle tart then expect to be judged on the outcome. If you carry your bat and help your side to a big total, well done; if you shoulder arms to a straight ball and put pressure on the rest of the order then you come off as a utensil.

For a supposedly mentally tough character he’s revealed himself as anything but through his unwillingness to say no to a senior teammate, a leg side trap and failing to assume responsibility in the BBL.

Plus his negative mindset contributed to his dismissal

Redbacks will have to bat for a while to give the bowlers a spell.

They'd probably want to set a decent total with Marsh, Stoinis and Phillipe capable of scoring quickly and Bancroft capable of getting out without facing 150 deliveries for very few runs.

It's just SA going Super Saiyan now that they're all but out of contention.

Partly true, but WA haven't tried to take the initiative at any point. That started when they had SA by the throat at 5-143 and 6-223 and took the pressure off. Then Bancroft batting like a total dick set the tone for the WA first innings. Voges won't do a thing though; complete waste of space. Aaron Hardie had a great debut last season (4-29 / 11.4 and 4-33 / 13) but hasn't got a look in since while Moody continually gets selected. Other states will eventually asking, if that hasn't happened already.

I don't get it
WA didn't move the game along, why the fu** give them a sniff
Because SA can still finish second if they win this and they're more likely to win if WA have something they can get when batting aggressively.

WA have one reasonably consistent bat (Sean Marsh). The rest are youngsters (Carder, Green, Phillipe) who are very inconsistent, horribly out-of-form (Bancroft) or just plain s**t (Stoinis). They're not going to chase down a score of over 300.
