a washed out game between NZ and England is a very good result for Australia though.
Even as a fair minded person, it would be a Steve Bradbury way of making it to the semis.

Agree, but I’d still back us in a finals situation at home against anyone. We have a knack of just getting it together when it matters in these tournaments.

Let’s face it. Starc and Cummins are good test bowlers- but are nowhere near our best t20 bowlers. Bowl an easy to hit length and slower balls are not good enough.
Starc at his best is one the the best T20 bowlers in the world but the problem is his worst is horrific and he bounces between the two far too often.
We got to see both tonight, his first over was incredible and his last horrific.

Just a few thoughts about where we are at atm
Very inconsistent
Warner...has not got going due to finch's struggles down the other end and playing shots straight to the fielders...disappointing from him so far
Finch finale came good today but still after 12 overs was only 30 odd and it helped the irish bowled wides and basically a 12 ball over to help out finchie get his score up ...but credit today thats what we needed from finch at the start of the wc
Marsh....keeps hitting six and out....makes starts does not go on...again finchies struggles forcing marsh to hit every ball for six
Maxwell....well seriously has an issue with the ball over 130...if we get knocked out its time to move on cannot have a batter in your top four who is scared of a pace
Stoinis.....should open with him...the only batter who looks good from ball one...hitting the ball well only batter to stand up IMO...should open with him come our last game against afghan
David...huge wraps but really has not done much hard coming in with only 10/12 balls but he is a six hitter and we have seen very little so far
Wade.....kept well should be captain IMO....not really used yet

Hazelwood......on and off still consistent but not getting the early wickets
Cummins....yeah not a t20 player and has lost pace
Starc ...up and down looks great when it swings looks crap when it doesn't
Zamps....tidy as usual along with Agar

Rain will clear by about Midday. Outfield will also drain a lot quicker than the MCG with the warmer conditions, also they have the whole afternoon for it to dry. I think even the Afghanistan v Sri Lanka game at 3 will start on time.
We only fell 8 runs short of Eng
We were never really going to win either of the first 2 games IMO.
The scoreboard flattered us.
Only rain saved us from a 3 nil drubbing and then India smashed us in a practice game.
NZ embarrassed us.
If people think Finch is in form after that innings, think again.
MM is good for a quick 30 but doesn't go on with it.
Maxxy, enough has been said.
Cummins is a poor T20 bowler.
If you think we're not far off NZ, England and India, I've been watching a different game.
