The best 22 currently playing

My team's based on a hypothetical situation, where the All Australian team is picked right now. 2007 form so far if you like. When the original poster said "on what they've achieved" I thought he meant so far this season, as many people would have.

Yes, Mooney's on the wing; only because I wanted to squeeze him into the 22. He can swap with White in the ruck, and you can drop Lade from the bench and bring in Bartel if that makes you happier!

Heath Shaw has been outstanding so far.

In that case I pretty much agree entirely with your team.

best 22 on current form or best 22 players currently in the competition?

best 22 currently in the competition would be something like

B Mal Michael Fletcher archer
HB Macleod Goodes Kerr
C Cousins Harvey C Judd
HF Hird J brown N. Reiwoldt
FF Neitz Lloyd nathan Brown

R Everitt M. Voss S. Black
B. Akermanis s. west Ricciouto Buckley
e. chris johnson, lenny hayes, S.Crawford

on 2007 form ONLY

B Scarlett Michael Cornes
HB J. gram Goodes Goddard
C Judd Black Hird
HF ablett jnr Lucas J. Brown
F Fevola Lloyd B. Johnson

R Everitt kerr west
B R. Harvey Baker

certainties are Aka, Black, Hird, Archer, Harvey, Kouta, Bux, cousins, lloyd, mcleod, ricciuto and marc murphy

How can Marc Murphy be in the best 22 of all of the players in the AFL, across their entire careers, after 16 games?

For their entire careers??

Well Hird, Buckley, Black, Akermanis, Judd, Harvey, Johnson, Lloyd, Archer, Cousins, Rucciuto, and McLeod and certainities.

I would go something like this:

B: Archer, Scarlett, Fletcher
HB: Lappin, Clement, McLeod
C: Harvey, West, Cousins
HF: Akermanis, Richardson, Hird
F: Johnson, Lloyd, Rucciuto
FOLL: Cox, Buckley, Judd
INT: Crawford, Tredrea, Black, Goodes

CHB and CHF were my only concerns. But the rest would be stiff to miss out.

Currently but not totally based on form:

B Lindsey Gilbee, Matthew Scarlett, James Clement
HB Chad Cornes, Dustin Fletcher, Andrew McLeod
C Ben Cousins, Sam Mitchell, Adam Goodes
HF Brad Johnson, Matthew Pavlich, Jason Akermanis
F Matthew Lloyd, Brendan Fevola, Paul Chapman
R Dean Cox, Daniel Kerr, Chris Judd
Int Aaron Sandilands, Brett Kirk, Lenny Hayes, Simon Black

Only Carlton, Essendon, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane could fit this team in their salary cap.

Michael has played in three flags but he doesn't deserve to be in the best 22 going on reputation. Pavlich is a better footballer who has least made an AA team on more than one occasion and Michael can be beaten by leading forwards.

Chad Cornes is better than Clement, has a premiership medal in his pocket and can play anywhere.

Not a real fan of Goodes but I had to pick him.

B: Archer Fletcher Wirrapanda
HB: Buckley Pavlich C.Cornes
C: Mcleod Ricciutto Koutoufides
HF: B.Johnson J.Brown Hird
F: Akermanis Lloyd Bell
R: Everitt Judd Harvey

I/C Cousins Crawford Black Goodes

If you're doing it based on current form then Petrie and Brent Harvey would comfortably make it..

They're about the only 2 that have done anything for us this season consistently

Based on last weeks effort from the Roos none of them deserve to be in anyones team. They were as bad as we were two years ago.
