PIEMAN RESULTS Round 21 v Essendon
What rotten luck for Josh Bruce. Having his best season ever, scored goals in every round bar one and would probably have cracked 50 already if he didn't regularly take turns in the ruck. Anyway we move on. It should have been about 17 goals yesterday but it was only 12. That's been addressed pretty thoroughly in other threads so I'll leave it at that.
Private team selections
You can lodge your entries privately if you wish. Just PM me before the cut-off time.
I'm posting this near the top in case you weren't aware of it. I'm getting a rush of entries coming in at the last minutes before the game starts. It's a minor inconvenience for me but it would be a major inconvenience for you if you happen to miss the cut (that happened to Ossie the other week). Be aware that I will enforce the cut-off time i.e. the official match start time. Your unedited post must be time-stamped no later than that.
I won't publish your entry until after the game starts, but I will acknowledge in this thread that I've received it. A couple of people have used the facility already. And don't worry about me seeing your entry. I'm so far back now I'd need a few massive scores to get back into contention. So the last thing I'm going to be worried about is who you've picked.
Pieman Player of the Week
A couple of friendless roughies kicked goals this week. Taylor Duryea with his first of the season (courtesy of a 50m penalty) wins the PPotW and Easton Wood wasn't far behind him. Maximum possible score this week was 328 if you had been game enough to go 3x Duryea and 2x Wood.
Pieman Player of the Year
Sadly that's it for 2021 forJosh Bruce. We shall just have to wait and see whether anyone will catch him in the 2 remaining H&A games plus finals. He certainly has a big enough lead. Libba seems the one most likely.
The KELVIN
Surprisingly with 12 WB goalkickers there was only one team that earned the 20 point bonus this week for selecting 5 of them. That was Floridog (115) and it was enough to get him over the line for this week's Kelvin, his second for the year. In second place was ossie_21 (105) who managed to get his team in before the opening bounce this week. They were the only two teams to crack 100 points. Snarls Barkley (92) rounded out the top 3.
The PIEMAN
Well it's certainly getting interesting late in the season!
Wocka is still the leader but the challenges are coming. Only 61 points covers the top five. You've got to admire the insights into footy that Floridog has somehow managed to get from the other side of the planet. Only 26 points behind the leader he's a chance at showing us all up! Ossie_21 also made up 41 points on the leader this week. Vinegar Mess had an off-week with his carryover team and dropped from second back to fourth but is still very much in the reckoning. SayerTheCreator isn't far behind. But really any of the top dozen or so could still win it.
The handicaps will get a shake-up this week with Bruce out of the side. Not quite sure yet how it'll look (and who will get selected) but you can expect some changes.
