Pretty simple, Collingwood received De Goey, Cripps, Greenwood, lent Beams to Brisbane for a few years and all they had to give up were two late first rounders. Brisbane absolutely got reamed in the entire scheme of things.

Err you are not factoring in who the pies lose this year and next year if they had of kept both there 1st as well as who the lions pick up in both years. It's only fair considering you have included who they gained based on the pics traded in 4 years ago.

Yes. Lynch will be phased in and replace Riewoldt over time.
The great champions, Rance and Riewoldt, would retire in 3-4 years' time.
Lynch is the first piece in the new jigsaw puzzle.
Fans speak highly of Balta, as a replacement for Rance over time.
But we need to be prepared to recruit a ready-made key position defender as well.

Rance is the best defender of his generation and Riewoldt is top 2-3 amongst key forwards. They aren’t going to be easily replaced and when they hang up the boots our flag chances are going to nosedive.

Kelly gets bid on at 15 and Pies want to match......F/S get a 20% discount pick wise

So 15 = 1112 pts - 20% = 900pts
To match the bid they would have to use 41, 44 and 57 with a few pts left over

Ok got it but who gets the pies 41,44,57 picks then if they use them for Kelly ?

I'm no expert on this and will happily kowtow to those with superior knowledge, but my understanding is that picks between 41-44 move up 1, between 44-57 up 2 and after 57 up 3

Fair enough, but I think just like us, they wouldn’t make a rash decision to bring him in if it’s going to hinder them in the long term. I mean they still going to be able to draft top 15 prospect this year.

If Brisbane picks up someone of De Goeys ability with one or both of those picks then they definitely at least break even.With the lateness of the picks it’s unlikely but still possible.

I'm not sure where Townsend fits now. He was tried as a mid when our midfield was worse and failed. Now our forward line is going to be different.

Suspect the clubs opinions are divided with a wait and see approach.

Will have to reinvent himself again if he stays on the list but can see mostly VFL. Too many other youngsters in VFL that need games into them.
