This is a sensitive area for some. With that in mind, I'm going to remind a few posters a few things:
  • personal attacks are against forum rules. From this point, any attacks that are directed at another poster will be treated with a warning, then infractions and threadbans if it continues.
  • the spread of misinformation is also against the rules. This is taken very seriously by moderation, and you will be asked to support your opinion from time to time. If you cannot satisfy this, you will be provided an opportunity to retract your post; if you do not, you will receive an infraction and a threadban on that basis.
This is a forum for adults, and I'd appreciate you all treating each other appropriately.

This is stupid for two reasons. First its not a bridge but a dam so basically a road built on top of land. Unless they got an excavator in they haven’t collapsed it, maybe made the road unusable but one that can be repaired.

Secondly it a useless gesture as the UAF can just bypass the town 2km to the west with their vehicles and equipment.
Which it seems the Ukrainians have.

What he's really saying is:

"Don't forget about me today"

Then got in to an argument with Garry Kasparov with "oh yeah what have you ever done?".

A guy who risked being murdered by Putin for criticising him and running against him for President. Luckily he was on beaten and gaoled.

Musk needs to stick to his expertise - failing to meet quarterly targets over and over and over.

It seems to be the classic Ukrainian ploy. They never attack a stronghold head on, but try to encircle it, at which time the Russians flee.

Just like in the Kharkiv area and Lyman as shown below.

It's happening

That's it. North Kherson is done and dusted. Russian command has lost all control and Russian forces are getting routed in that sector.

Every day now we seem to get Russian messages that the "situation is difficult." Russian TV propagandists are almost in mourning since Friday and their reaction is to sack (and even execute) the military hierarchy and give Putin a free pass even though he is the one to blame here.

If the UAF can get past Mylove, then the next stop is Beryslav. By that stage there may be a two pronged attack as the other pincer from the north comes down, and then they can just not only beseige the town but will have fire control of the Nova Kakhovka bridge a few kms away so that not even a mouse can get through after the recent Russian repairs to it.

And it seems that the mobilised conscripts aren't even close to being sent yet.

So now the Russians were tricked into invading Ukraine 🤪.

Geopolitical confrontation: expert analysis. Alexander Zhilin, head of the Center for the Study of Public Applied Problems of National Security, retired colonel, author of the Anatomy of Events telegram channel, talks about the background of the “Ukrainian trap”.

"Krymnash" was the first stage of the "Ukrainian trap" designed for us. The old principle worked: give a little so that you can get everything later. Now it's already obvious. I look at everything that is happening in Ukraine and clearly see that we have been set up with a classic strategic trap. It was obvious, but we, nevertheless, climbed into it ourselves. Why did emotions win over reason? We were strongly motivated to do this back in 2014. The essence of the "Ukrainian trap" is simple.

All the expert assessments of the Western military leaked to the media kept repeating: Ukraine will not last even a week against Russia. We picked up this misinformation every time and through our media convinced ourselves of this nonsense.

Russian troops entered Ukraine, fully sharing this illusion: an easy walk ahead and flowers on the armor. They even brought dress uniforms for the forthcoming parade in Kyiv. This is how not very far-sighted bosses train personnel.

But it was not there. Our fighters were met with fierce fire and Javelins. Then we were allowed to get bogged down in viscous battles, and then quickly formed a pro-Ukrainian coalition of 54 leading economically developed countries. Enormous military and economic aid went to Ukraine.

The balance of forces and resources changes daily. The potential of Ukraine due to the supply of high-tech and high-precision weapons is growing, and ours, due to natural losses at the front, sparingly speaking, is not increasing.

We are replacing the retired most trained soldiers with mobilized, poorly motivated, and sometimes even demotivated by forced mobilization, practically untrained civilians. As a result, we have constructed a situation where it is difficult to win, and it is impossible to leave without losing face and collapsing the internal political vertical. That's it, the trap is slammed! What shaped the image of an easy victory in the minds of the military-political leaders?

Enchanting return of the Crimea. The "designers" of the trap had calculated and taken into account everything down to the molecules. Was there a colossal support for our "little green men" by the Crimeans? Was. Was the motivation of people to vote for joining the Russian Federation.

And most importantly, there was no military resistance. Why? The Ukrainian military received an order: leave without a fight! And they obeyed the order - they left.

It was this and much that came with it that created the illusion that the whole of Ukraine would react in the same way to Russia's forcible entry into its territory. It must be admitted that in 2014 there were much more pro-Russian Ukrainian citizens than now.

However, time was lost, and propaganda on both sides pitted the two fraternal peoples for 8 years. Russophobia and Ukrainophobia have become the main content of TV channels. The results have been stunning. And what is the result? In Ukraine, Russia has been made into an insane monster. From Ukraine, in the minds of Russians, an image was blinded, where all the Nazis and Bandera, who dream of cutting us, even Ukrainian Jews, including Zelensky himself. All this propaganda work has formed intransigence and worked against the SVO, since our state information resource, through the pumping of Russophobia, motivated Ukrainian citizens to desperate resistance: victory or death.

The work done could not but affect the behavior of the fighters on the battlefield. Being pitted, both armies fight furiously. To death! As a result, an ideal situation has developed for a third party - a strategic planner, when it is he who largely controls the development of the situation on the fields of military and political battles and can keep the fire burning at his discretion, throwing logs with support from one side or the other.

There is no power way out of this trap. It seems that the Kremlin has already understood this. Hence Kyiv's insistent invitations to negotiations. But will the masters of strategic design allow the parties to agree, if the main levers of influence on the situation are in their hands?

So this is the excuse that Russians are using for the collapse of the northern Kherson front. Claiming that the UAF marked their tanks with Z and V marking so that the Russians thought they were theirs.

Seriously all that the Russian forces had to do was identify the tanks. If they weren't T-64 museum heritage pieces of sh!t then they would definitely know they weren't theirs.

Eastern side of the Oskil river cleared with a complete bridgehead formed. Those dammed people that Russia was to liberate seem devasted seeing UAF troops....

Now onto Svatove they go!

Yep, line has collapsed. The biggest Russian stronghold of Davydiv Brid has been liberated.

Unlike Lyman where they were told to die, the Russians in north Kherson have retreated. Lord knows where the next line of defence will be as there have not been any prepared lines that far back.

Will be glorious to read the reaction of the trolls after this latest "goodwill gesture." They will put some spin onto it. Something along the lines of the UAF lost 20,000 men during the attack and the 18 HIMARS that were promised but not yet delivered by the US have already been destroyed!

Okay I thought this was a parody when I first saw it but apparently it is real. Lukashenko tackling the big issues at home.

Here he is making sure Belarus stays out of sending troops to Ukraine by claiming a mythical threat by Poland and the Baltic states.

The post says Novopatrivka (which wouldnt make sense) but I think the guy actually said Novopavilika (which also wouldnt make sense lol) Almost all the towns in the region north of Kherson are New this and New that (Novosapatrivka, Novoalexandrivka) etc?
Edit: Ok it's probably Nova Patrivka, east of Archangelsk, which does make sense.

"Where have you been for so long, guys?" - residents of the liberated Novopetrivka in the Kherson region meet our soldiers with tears in their eyes

The whole logic of the the article is ridiculous. But the thought of this paragraph is particularly ridiculous, that Russia invaded because the West said that it would be easy if they did. It is Putin and Russia responsibility to know their own military capability.

Yes Putin was probably tricked regarding Russia's capability, but it was not by the West. It was by his own generals who told him what he wanted to hear rather than what he needed to hear. But Putin kind of brought that onto himself in removing anyone who even slightly disagrees with him and bring in a bunch of "yes" men.

Also the corruption within the Russian military to line the Generals and military contractors pockets meant their equipment being in poor quality and poor condition.

It's always someone else fault with the Russians. Never take responsibility for their actions. Unjustly invade a country, and they say they were tricked. What nonsense. As you say, the only trickery was perpetrated by the Russian generals about the capabilities of their armed forces. Misjudging the West and misjudging Ukraine's resolve are just that, terrible misjudgment by Putin.

Never the Russians fault. They are perfect. After all, they are fighting all of NATO on their doorstep. Russia cant compete. Sumultaniously, Russia is NATOs equal.

And now they are fighting a war against the colonial nazi west. A just cause that they were tricked into.

These positions are all true simultaniously because it's a bloody clown show. And those who believe it are not serious people.

They're so against colonialism they are attemtping to seize 15% of Ukraine's land to increase the Russian empire. They're so against colonialism that Putin is talking about swallowing up Belarus into the Russian federation.

Don't fear. This will make all the difference.

Zhuravlyov had only had the role for 17 days.

The previous commander before Zhuravlyov lasted only 15 days. But guess who it was?

Yep, Berdnikov who is now back in the role. Bloody merry go round.
