Some of the marks he took last night, Tigers players were like WTF? He will be close to unmatchable once he has built strength and adds weight that will make him hard to move

The combined marking power of Darcy and Naughton is going to be ridiculous at their peak, with Jamarra and Cody also floating around capable of doing great things. A 4-way aerial threat.

I personally can’t wait for the moment all 4 of them fly for the same ball

The most impressive thing last night wasn't his huge reach and taking the ball high.
It was the one hander where he just used his developing bulk to position himself better than his defender.

If he's doing that now that's pure natural smarts, not taught.

Other clubs will start putting strategies in place to counter him though. A bit like when Naughton looked as if he'd take every defence apart after his 6 goal break out game against Richmond, but then clubs figured out how to limit his ability to take the speccy mark.

It's been good for Naughton's development. He's now more of a rounded player. He is able to have an impact up the ground and he was even taking marks on the lead last night.

Opposition sides will find ways to limit Darcy's marking but he's so talented it won't take him long to adapt. And like Naughton it will end up making him a better player.

All defenders might start bringing step ladders to matches or wearing platform shoes.

Will be a challenge for teams when there’s Darcy, Naughton and Jamarra to worry about though. If they’re well coached, at least one of them will get off the chain most weeks.

We’ve got three key forwards quite capable of averaging 2 goals and 2 contested marks a game. If we can make that work it’ll be a huge point of difference.

We all knew he was this good but we didn't know it would happen so soon. You could make the case that he's already the best forward/ruck in the competition. Time will tell if his body stands up to a full season at this level.

My favourite thing about him is that when kicking for goal he doesn’t overthink it or try anything fancy . He kicks it hard and straight enough to go where he wants it , but doesn’t blast it. Doesn’t get too close to the man on the mark . Not easy for such a big bloke . Luke was a lovely kick too .

Kicking accurately for goal is a very important skill . His teammates should take note.

Just need a forward coach that: a) isnt an accountant that had zero coaching experience who b) wasn’t even supposed to be a line coach until we realised we couldn’t get anyone else for the job on c) the minimum chips we had left thanks to Bevos huge contract.

THEN we’ll be cooking.

hugely surprised at the level of impact he's already having.

He will be the best KPP in the comp at his peak, no doubt about it

Surprise surprise bloke with consistent, repeatable & simple routine kicks straight more often than not!!! It’s really not that hard, he properly lines up the goals, head over the ball and comes through with momentum pushing to the goals. Darcy knows his routine and follows it every time and it leaves a lot less room for error/pressure when you can be confident in your routine.

Jamarra on the other hand looks like it’s his first time picking up a football, and he does something different every time. It’s crazy that every single AFL player doesn’t have a repeatable routine like Darcy !

He reminds me a bit of Paul Salmon. Salmon was kicking bigger bags at Sam’s age (60 goals at the age of 19), however it was a different game back then.
