Crows 29 & under...

No Walker, Laird, Smith or Sloane.

B: Michalanney, Murray, Hinge
HB: Milera, Worrell, Curtin
C: Soligo, Crouch, Jones
HF: Rachele, Thilthorpe, Keays
F: Rankine, Fogarty, Cook
R: O'Brien, Dawson, Pedlar
I: Nankervis, Berry, Taylor, Schoenberg
Sub: McHenry

To add to the discussion, here are the number of players (in brackets) over 30 that made each clubs' top 10 b & f in 2023

Adelaide (3)
Brisbane (1)
Carlton (1)
Collingwood (2)
Essendon (0)
Freo (0)
Geelong (6)
Gold Coast (2)
GWS (0)
Hawthorn (0)
Melbourne (2)
North Melbourne (2)
Port Adelaide (0)
Richmond (4)
St Kilda (1)
Sydney (1)
West Coast (2)
Bulldogs (2)

So based on that Geelong are in all sorts of trouble followed by the Tigers. Crows a bit worrying too.

That's a weird statement when looking at those 2 lists. Of course top 10 picks in general are better than picks outside that but there are elite talents in those lists not taken in the top 10.

Will Day is Hawthorn's best player in that list and worth miles more than a random top 10 pick. De Koning and Holmes are Geelong's two best and both worth comfortably more than a random top 10 pick. All of them were taken outside the top 10.

Why should we care that they weren't top 10 picks when they're projecting better than most top 10 picks?
Top 10 and even top 5 picks are generally where you get the best of the best kids, but you’re right regarding Day, and then there’s others like Fyfe, Cripps, Curnow and even Butters who are every bit as good as a top 5 draft pick, taken in the teens.

Geelong are also generally quite good at developing, like Hawthorn, so shouldn’t really drop down for long at all even if they do.

Geelong, Pies, Lions

But only Lions are concerning as they haven’t won anything.

I think Richmond have already shed a good chunk of their older players so it’s not as bad as the 3 above.

I'm not too worried... as we have players coming through to replace the 3 in question.

Walker - Fogarty & Thilthorpe will be ready to take over. Welsh should be ready to play as 3rd tall once Tex retires. But granted losing a match winning heart & soul player of the club will be a loss.

Laird is only about to turn 30 & likely has a few years left. However, we have Rachele, Soligo & Pedlar all ready next season to increase their midfield minutes. Dawson & Crouch should be around for many years yet.

Smith we have 3 decent similar types with Jones, Milera & Hinge. Nankervis also looks likely.

Richmond's problem is that you lost one of your key forwards at the end of 2023 and your other key forward will likely be gone in a year or two as well. Richmond's forward line has gone from one of its greatest strengths to a real weakness in only a couple of years.

Bulldogs maybe, not a lot of quality youth coming through and still very dependent on a few senior players

Lolwut. JUH, Weightman, Naughton, Richards, West, O’Donnell, Darcy, Sanders are all best 22 players 24 yrs or younger, plus Khamis and Gallagher have played every game so far this year so presumably are best 22 too. Then they’ve got Croft, Clarke and Freijah all looking great at VFL level as teenagers.

The only 30+ players they’re still highly dependent on are Libba and Jones.
