Not quite sure where you got that one from. He was our Vice captain and captained the team for the last 2 or 3 weeks when Pav was out injured. Was he worth whatever he was being paid - more than likely not, but given every other mid we had retired during the season, I don't think there's too...
So they really wouldn't be able to give them any guarantees then. Will be interesting to see how many kids take them up on their offer. If they are good enough, they'll be getting picked up anyway (by the GC or someone else) and can finish school uninterrupted and continue in a pretty good...
I thought the story with that one was that the media guys voted and Sampi had the most votes, but Rosco decided to give it to Gardiner instead. That's why they tell us who voted for who now.
Are these kids that they are looking at relocating guaranteed a spot in the first GC AFL sqaud? Big move to be making at 16 if there's still a chance you could get the flick before your career has even started.
I think you might be out by a month - Rich was born on 7 June.
No need to worry about him breaking his leg at Subi - Shane 'leg breaker' Parker is retired
Sorry, you'll have to explain to me just what money it was that Freo received to enter the AFL? Freo actually paid a $4m licence fee (to help prop up said Victorian clubs) and have not received any CBF or other payments from the AFL beyond what all other clubs receive each year. If Freo...
- Supporters and clubs who endlessly whinge about stadium deals and uneven draws
- Clubs who continue to leech off the AFL and don't do anything to make themselves sustainable
- Vlad and his merry men
- Changes to 'interpretation' of rules and the inability of umpires to apply more than one...
If pick 7 really is lucky, then what can Freo, Essendon, Carlton and Port do about it (and why aren't Melbourne or West Coast in this??)? Working on the lucky pick theory, Freo could have taken Rich at 3 and Brisbane could have taken someone else at pick 7 and pick 7 would still win the award...
Sorry Embers, I've got no idea what you're going on about. I was responding to TOA's claim that Naitanui was rucking against 200cm+ 100kg+ rucks all year, a lot of whom had been on an AFL list. Nothing to do with Warnock.
My only cries of foul play will be for the likes of Solomon, Sandilands, Pavlich, Hasleby and Crowley (and whoever else may be in the surrounds) for not protecting him. Josh plays how he plays. He doesn't hurt anyone, he's just an annoying little twerp. I think Rhys Palmer (like most elite...
You think the umpires don't already keep a close watch on Josh Carr? They are at him all through a game telling him to ease up and they pay a kick against him when it warrants it. Hopefully all a 4th umpire will result in is even more of Kerr's cheap shots being picked up - headbutting and...
He must be the only man alive who has a medal named after him for being a selector for a team that finished last. They should have waited for a few years and called it something that had meaning for both clubs. The McManus-Worsfold medal, or the Allan-Glendinning medal if you want to...
Does anyone know the reason that he has a medal named after him for the best player in a Derby? I understand his link to West Coast, but other than being on the selection committee during Freo's darkest years (aka the Drum years), what does he have to do with Freo? Must be close to the most...
Sounds like a good deal to me Rob. I'd be happy to pay half as much for my Freo membership and have the club get a few handouts from the AFL. Might send an email suggesting it to Steve Rosich now :thumbsu:
So what have you seen of Hill or Rich to determine that Hill is not impressive? Some youtube? Maybe one or two games? You really think that your opinion is going to be factored in by recruiting people who've been watching both players for years?
I'd be pretty surprised if they've actually got it from someone at Freo. Things aren't leaked down there since Harvey took over. It wouldn't be the first time the worst have made up stories either (having said that, they may well be right, in which case, whoever the leak is, they should be...
Tarrant's field kicking is actually very good - he is one of the best for delivering it to the forwards, it's just his goal-kicking is a little off sometimes. You should add Priddis to that list - I don't think even he knows where the ball is going to go sometimes.
It all depends how you work it out too. Our oldest player will be 28, while a lot of other clubs have multiple players 30+. People get way too caught up with age - it's more relevant how players are playing than how old they are.
Is that based on current lists? Port and Freo both have about 7 or 8 empty spots. If they fill those with 18 year olds it could change the list quite dramatically.
Fremantle have said no publicly about 20 times, but it doesn't seem to get through to many people. Seems you need to have a board meeting and press conference specifically relating to Cousins before anyone takes you seriously.
After reading Matt Burgan's draft and being disappointed in the number of mids he has coming to Freo, I thought I'd see how many mids people want to see us draft. I'm talking about actual mids as well, not half-backs or half-forwards or utilities that might be able to play in the middle, but...
