I think everyone is over rating the traveling time and extra game the Hawks had to play this final series.

QF Hawks took foot of peddle and didn't give 100%.
SF Hawks had a training run
PF Hawks had a nice warm up m
Our goal kicking almost at 100% but against the Weagle at maybe 60%.

This leads to a Hawks primed to give 100%.

Heat is no factor at all as Melbourne weather is no were near as humid and hot as in Perth in our hottest day

If we start well we will win...

That's what I said in my original post, but I also made point of asking how many times Clarko has changed the interchange bench to change the sub?

The sub person would be known to him and it will be one of the four on the bench. Even if there's a late out, it will be Hartung who's the sub. Why do you think Gunston is on the interchange?
Anything is possible but generally Clarko does a double bluff and does not make changes to the selected side. So yes likely it will come from the bench but I doubt Gunston will start on the bench if he does play.

I was filthy on everyone tipping against us last year, but everyone tipping us is very unsettling
Not having a go at you directly but what is it with Hawthorn bigfooty posters and their obsession with what the media has to say about us? Who cares if they thought Freo were a chance against us in 2013? (Most pundits still tipped us). Who cares if most thought Sydney would win last year? And who cares if most think we will this week?

It has no bearing on the result, and most journos would have no more insight or knowledge then your average bigfooty poster.

Birchall at 31? They really are a pack of raving lunatics in at the HS, he is one of our most important players, shut him down and you go a long way to shutting Hawthorn down.

I really don't know how some of these guys have a job.

I reckon Hale is the luckiest man in football right now. Form been substandard this year but he has a very specific role and will do it the best of our rucks but he is easily the 44th player this year.

LOL @ NicNat, he is a terrible player. Great ruck taps but that is where his game ends. He stands around the region where the ball is in duspute wondering exactly where he should be and what he should do in a sick parody of Majak Daw. He averages 1.89 marks per game. In the early '80s we had Ian Paton, a terrible ruckman for tapping, superb around the ground. That's what we want. I'd love to know what people see in NicNat. How many flags have west coast won in his career if ruck taps are so all important. They are 55-45 at best.

Anyone know the running times for pre-match stuff? Can't find anywhere.

Hopefully you havent just set him up for the game of his life ;)

Correct! I, for one, havent read even one of their articles. Just the title of the articles is usually enough for a laugh, I don't even bother opening them.

Jon Anderson predicts a WC giving us a lesson, and game over early.

I never thought much of Jon Anderson as a Journo, and he barricks for the handbaggers, so it's a natural distain for our club.
Bitter tears.......

Well said tf. After all the scribe's opinions and selections become history when the game starts. It's what takes place after that moment that counts.

Jon Anderson is tainted. He most recently did an article early in the year stating that the cats dynasty was greater than Hawthorns.....he has no leg to stand on if Hawthorn brings home the bacon. He is desperate for Hawthorn to fail.
Just another handbagger campaigner.

They are a dime a dozen.

Not sure if I agree about Gunstall as the sub. He is our leading goal scorer.

But, let's not forget that win, lose or draw, this is most likely Hale-storms last game. The man has a heart the size of phar lap and won't die wondering.

The thing that gives me the most confidence is that it isn't a single player that will win it for us, it's the team that will.

Across every line you can compare player for player and we can look like we can be beaten, but it's about what we do as a team that makes us so great.
And more dangerous than most of the rest.
