You would think with Cowan's injuries this season, he will be very close to the chopping block at end of season.
If he is on our list next season there is something seriously wrong with our list managers

What is Cowan's contract status?

And has there been any update on his injury or has he reunited with his former best friend:

He plays up forward too. Surely you're not suggesting he no longer knows his best position?
He lost all muscle and weight so he could run.
Look I wouldn't take him either way. But he's not the player he was. He has changed roles to help the saints out.

Reading the Drafting/Trading thread on the Main AFL Board is good fun.

Apparently we are getting McCartin, Hopper, Parish along with Gaz.

Considering no one ever lies on Bigfooty then it must be true :D

I just wanted Parish... never said anything about getting him!

GO Catters

Parish is all class isn't he... I'd take him over Hopper any day of the week.

Not sure about McCartin, his diabetes concerns me.
Dale Weightman had type 1 diabetes and he forged a pretty successful career.

If the saints are ready to part with Riewoldt then we'd be silly not to atleast ask the question.

Highly doubtful that Roo would entertain playing for another club, he comes across as a very loyal person and if he can't win one with the saints then that's all she wrote.
Thought that of stevie and chappy and mitchell and lewis too. A new dawn

Yeah, if players feel like they can keep going and keep making decent money at an AFL club, they'll try to eek out more years somewhere. Notions of loyalty won't stop them from being able to support themselves and their family via the means they've become accustomed to.

So Rnd 1 next year we might look something like this.

B:-----Guthrie-----Henderson----Stewart
HB:----Tuohy-------May------Cowan?
C:------Duncan----S.Selwood----Cockatoo
R:------Z.Smith----Danger-------J.Selwood
HF:-----D.Smith---Riewoldt-----Motlop
F:-------Ablett----Hawkins------Menzel
INT: Trengove, Blicavs, Petracca, Parfitt

I presume Parish and McCartin are injured in this scenario?

I did have a good chuckle.

The best part of that star-studded team was Cowan slotting in at half back.

Looks like a marginally successful team. Fyfe in the middle might improve it a little

When you look at the improvement from some of the other ooc players (menegola bews buzza and even cunico) and i assume we will elevate parsons for next year cowan is goneski if injured.

Pittard on the back flank, Cowan is desperately unlucky.

I might be paraphrasing a little here but 'Devon Smith looks more and more likely to leave GWS and it looks like he'll be joining Patty Dangerfield at the Cattery.'

Channel 7 reported during their sport coverage that D Smith might be be on the way to Geelong at the end of the year.

I think he is waiting on kelly. If kelly goes they might offer him an extra 250k and that might keep him, if kelly stays he is gone and i suspect we are in the box seat. Either way no reason for him to sign with gws soon.

I hope we can get him for carltons 2nd rounder plus maybe change (throw in a late pick or something) and ablett for a nothing 5th rounder.

Ablett only moves for a nothing pick, we will walk away if GCS ask for anything more. With the salary cap going up im not so sure money will be so much of a problem for us (or anyone), given Smith is a local boy hopefully it will be a fairly straight forward move early in the trade period.

Something like carltons 2nd and our 3rd (21 and 52 currently) for smith and their 4th (71) values smith at 1095 pts or pick 15/16 which i think is fair considering he is OOC. Then trade 71 for ablett. (Although its possible we might trade or FA players out for picks of course).
