Nah, it doesn't work like that. You can't play shit all season then go hard out in a game that doesn't matter because it might help you pay your bills for another 12 months. There are more things in a players evaluation that gets graded than a Round 23 game.

If the 'marginal' players were that smart they would have been making their case last week and today also - but there didn't appear to be too many of them! And, if the list managers are that stupid that they would have the wool pulled over their eyes, then we have no hope!

However, I'm not saying that those players should be judged on next week's game alone. It will just be the final opportunity for the club to help them in making an assessment.
