I know it's only one game, but that has to be a huge disappointment for the Magpies and their supporters, especially after all the preseason hype.
Just the manner they lost in, it was there for the taking when they were a goal up with only 5 or so minutes to go, but some absolutely horrid decisions and skill execution they coughed it up. On paper the midfield + Grundy should have won all the key clearances when it mattered. They didn't. De Goey who should be the match winner was the offender in one of the two key moments that lost them the match.

Well there's Guthrie to come back - whom I don't rate at all - and S.Selwood - whom I don't rate either, and we know they're instant walk-ups in the team. That's concerning.

Add to that Tuohy and Bews and 4 players need to be dropped.

I would bring in Touhy and leave the rest as depth. Back them in. And FFS sign Kelly. Absolute jet.

Hey, I enjoyed your posting on knee injuries last night. Was actually insightful. You leave me alone you big bully.

It's interesting not being in Victoria. Without ridiculous media hype it's hard to see how this is a huge disappointment for Collingwood. It's just one ok but not amazing team beating another slightly better on paper team. People need to stop rating teams based on how hard the media pumps up their tyres.

So that's what happened, sorry didn't watch the game:)

Lol only round 1 but geelong weren't tipped to get close in this one small wins haha. Geelong draw is not pretty early could be awhile before I can pop my head up again! Gotta get in while you can

This is a terrible result for pies
Can anyone tell me what has happened to earn this sort off effort????
Only won a Round 1 game once in 6 years.
Haven’t won a round 1 game since 2015 and that was against Brisbane.
Lost to the Swans, Bulldogs and Hawks. Lost to Freo in R1 2014 as well.
Cats also beat us twice last year, that’s why I tipped against the Pies.
Always a chance against us first up.

Geelong again win by free kicks and pure luck, don't any Geelong person tell me these guys don't get the rub it only takes one to three frees that are very dodgy and they seem to get them, no other club in the AFL gets the crap these guys get maybe WCE , given by umpires, there is at least one goal that geelong scored from a simply invented free kick from the ump.
Maybe its their jumpers that reflect badly at night or the umps can't see , I don't know , but Collwd should have kicked better, and the game was even but Geelong as per usual seem to get those advantages every time, and slime their way to a win. Any way the games as confusing as last year, zone stuff is OK everything is still the same bullshit with rules. How many times do teams have to win from free kicks, is that footy? I have no idea any more.

If geelong kicked every goal to win a game from frees, and each free was there, that would be great, but its never like that , there is always frees to those two Danger and Selwood and for some reason it always changes the result, even big Tom doesn't get looked after like those two but he benefits from it.
I actually think that Geelong became the better side and deserved to win, but shit , they always get helped and its always the usual suspects who get benefit of the doubt with very doubtful free kick decisions like the umps have a habit of just giving it to Selwood or Danger mouse, when something is a toss up.
Its true.
But quite weird. And it only takes that one or two mess ups, but they were both fumbling like amateurs tonight.
With the rules same old same old the AFL has done nothing. And still has unneeded rules to pull the game up and make it unfair, by the way Dangermouse did get a free against him that was absolute bullshit, so now the AFL is going to start taking en deavour out of it too.
This. Hilarious. Watch the whole game?

Well done Catters.
I'm highly dissapointed but in perspective it is round 1. Let's hope we change up a few things.

A few things I seen us do I thought it was different to usual so maybe with the new rules they were changing up a little bit.

Mind you, I am not trying to take anything away for Geelong they were deserving winners tonight.

One thing - the commentary on both 7 and Fox Footy are shocking. Could tell all night they wanted Geelong to win.

Winners are grinners and losers can go please themselves. Go nuts buddy. Enjoy it. Now, let’s all focus on Hawthorn ;)
