Anyone else find it strange that Daniher himself hasn’t spoke , there are players left right and centre asking for trades starting Monday.

I get the official trade period hasn’t started

By weeks end It starts to get weird imo. He either wants out he doesn't want out or he doesn't have a ****ing clue what day it is.
I guess a reasonable explanation is he may be being advised to say nothing by one or both clubs or his agent when you consider all the goings on behind the scenes of brokering a trade. What will be weird from this point on now is if he says All good I'm staying. Then it will be a case of WTF was that was all about ???????

I get the impression that he won't make his decision public until the two clubs get closer to an agreement. Given that we are dealing with the Dodoro and the unconscionable druggies it could take some time. I'm thrilled to hear that the board have rejected trading Papley (unless it's a fantastic deal).

You see, everyone goes on and on about bloody garlic bread going for a top 5 pick that is going to save a club.

Garlic pizza just goes about it's thing, stays a 1 club, multi B&F winning legend that has a major reason to the clubs success.

Oh and garlic bread went to 3 different clubs, didn't crack 100 games and was ultimately delisted as a dud

Perhaps he is under instruction. Who knows.
We stood firm with ROK after fantastic service for 8 or so years & he is now true Swans royalty being our only Norm Smith Medallist & dual p'ship player.
So Paps from a rookie listed player to where he is now in our leadership group can just wait for another 4 years before he goes to Carlton or sit it out & watch then crash & burn again.
Playing nice just hasn't worked for us. We watch Newman get 3 Brownlow votes against us.................at home.
No sorry. Play hardball so we don't have to watch them torch us when we play them.

Sam McClure reporting in The Age about an hr ago that Essendon waiting for a decision from Daniher who is said to be going overseas for a holiday where a big group of Bombers are heading to Sydney. Also reported that his Manager is not taking calls on the issue neither are the club.

It would be fun if you could protect picks (you can't), but if Papley is contracted to us until the end of 2023 ... it would take two 1sts for me to be interested in dealing him.

It's one of the many reasons why I don't want anything to do with this Daniher thing. It is going to be hard for us to justify holding Papley to his contract, if we are also going for a contracted Daniher.

4 years is too long. Anything could happen in that time. Giving him up has to make our overall list better. Carlton arent going to give us any of their good young players, so it has to be good picks.

Trade radio reckon Carlton would be hopeful of getting pick 25 back (to give to GC for Martin) with Papley if they give up pick 9.
I'd want to GET a pick 25 or under, not GIVE one.
Guess we get to keep him another year. IF that helps us NOT get Daniher all the better.
Though I'd really like McCasey in the draft somehow...

To be honest that is pretty unprofessional. He has had a long time to decide this, and he should have made a decision by now and informed the clubs involved about his decision.

He probably has & left things for the two clubs to work out one way or the other.
So maybe he has said i want a change but I am happy to stay a Bomber for another year & try again next draft period.
Only speculation going on is by people like us who wouldn't really have a clue.

The problem occurs when you really want a family supreme but nobody wants to deliver to your suburb because you live too far north. You end up calling all of the pizza places in the area and the only one that will deliver has no pizzas available, only garlic bread.
The question you now have to ask yourself are you really so hungry that you absolutely need a garlic bread now, or can you wait a while until the pizzas are available again?

Seems to be ranked best available - but there is no way....is there? Can't be.

We went to see Green at his house, meet the parents and everything.
I can't see any reason at all why GWS doesn't match our bid though...

I'd trade Jones to the Demons just for the pick swap to get Serong or Flanders...
