What would the coaches know anyway?
Walsh deserves it over the 2 years
Means Bont was the best player of 2019, I'll take itWell done to Sam on getting the most coaches out of young players over the last 2 years, he is certainly a very good young player.
Not arguing against it, but are we using coaches votes now as the strongest evidence of who the best players in the league are?
He's scared of cute little pet mice too.Remember when Gary Lyon didn't even rate him in the best 5 for his re-ranked draft...
Gary should stick to stealing other men's wives then claiming mental health issues. He's opinions are drivel.

Everyone who has watched them both this year can clearly see their is little seperating the two. They have both had very good years. You would assume the coaches would know a little about the current playing lists, opposition and current day matchup, etc., wouldn't you?
On that proviso, I would think this award, the coaches award and most others by the coaches, would be held higher than the umpires award and media awards, etc.
I guess the fact he won it in a canter also tells me, he is out on his own right now, but then again biased supporters know best, right?
Well done WALSHY.

Let's not pretend Walsh is lightyears ahead of everyone when his year has probably been on par with Smith's.

Well done WALSHY.
Carlton fans just won their GF.
It seems he got more votes than Smith in 2020 as well, but again, what would they know.
Interesting to note that according to the article Walsh received more votes this year than Smith did in 2 years
Looking forward to those supposedly elite North youth getting some recognition in coming years.Carlton fans just won their GF.
Supporters love coaches votes when it suits them. On that proviso, would you have considered Bont's year better than Cripps' last year?Sorry didn't mean to hurt your feelings over Smith. Very good player and has done well to keep up with Walsh, even the coaches thought so in their voting.
Ah. The old 'your opinion doesn't matter because your team is s**t'.Looking forward to those supposedly elite North youth getting some recognition in coming years.
Remember when Gary Lyon didn't even rate him in the best 5 for his re-ranked draft...
"Garry Lyon stands by his re-ranking of the 2018 draft. Carlton young gun Sam Walsh, who was selected with the first pick overall in 2018 draft, came in at number six in Lyon’s top 10."
I think we would know a bit about GF victories, well a bit more then North fans anyway.

Would you like me to link you to the 1995 GF or the 2 losses for the year video?Yeah, sure been leading the way over the last quarter of a century
Does any footage exist of those glorious GF victories in the 1900s?
I personally thought Cripps had a better year last year than Bont, marginally. Why not? Bont is a jet and they are absolutely comparable. Wouldn’t have any issues with that.
The same can not be said for Walsh and Smith.
Walsh has had a very good start to his career, but does everyone really understand how this award has been calculated.Well done to Sam on getting the most coaches out of young players over the last 2 years, he is certainly a very good young player.
