I can't stand Whateley. He irritates the hell out of me! 360 would be completely unwatchable if it wasn't for a p!ssed Robbo actually being mildly entertaining every now and then.

Wheatley on his soapbox saying all games should be moved out of SA.
Just listened to what he said, and let me tell you I agree with most on here about the self importance he gives himself.
His main point was to do with the rules of engagement that SA Health had put in place.
He reiterated Buckley's only beef that it seemed ridiculous that you would get a CoVid test In Victoria before you leave and then have to get one in SA when you arrive and then have to sit around in a room for 3+ hours waiting for the SA Health results from the SA test to come through.
I must admit you would think you could trust the Vic Results from the Tests taken the same day.
But then again SA Health did lock us down due to a positive Pizza Box

I think it is pretty evident why our game plan has changed. First of all there is the fact that last year teams were catching us over the back as a tactic of beating our press. I remember one critic saying our press is a little too high (It was Dermott Brereton when we played Sydney last year) and needed a little bit of tweaking. Second there is the recruitment of Allir Allir which allowed us to pull back our press a little and dare teams to kick it long.

The advantage of the new game plan is that teams are wary of just bombing it long because most of our scores this year have been from the back half and not a sustained press. The disadvantage is that teams are handballing through our zone defense and holding on to the ball and slowing the tempo. They realize that you need to run at our defense and get people out of position before you kick it. Another disadvantage is that the boys are playing a less contested game and not working as hard as they did last year.

Overall, I think that the press will be readjusted closer to the finals and that disadvantage can be turned to an advantage . It is a harder style to play but allows the team to build into the season and not peak too early.

Do we really think that Melbourne will out perform Richmond at the end of the year? I think we are placed ok and I am a little buoyed by the fact that we can play way below our potential and be 8-3. In some ways if we get things together we are better placed this year than last...

It would help if SA put their hands up for once and pushed for hubs or anything really....

We had Hawthorn hubbing in the Barossa last year and if their late-season football was anything to go by, they lost the will to live.
