  • Top 10 pick and change

  • Later 1st round pick

  • Two 2nd rounders

  • Early 2nd rounder

Only bright side out of this deal for the Swans is just further re-enforcing the need for academies in non-traditional states.

Finlayson, M.Kennedy, Setterfield and Zac Williams were all GWS academy players who requested trades interstate. The academy system isn’t a solution to player retention issues.

Wow.
I'm flattered you went to that much effort.
Who's the peanut?
Just wow..................so much time in primary school these days.

It would’ve been pretty easy to do.

Point is, some of us were trying to have a legit discussion about footy. You kept stating opinions that had very little supporting evidence as fact. Now you’ve been proven wrong you’re trying to backtrack, which means you were either spectacularly wrong and won’t admit it or you were trolling the whole time which is worse.

We know it ******* sucks to lose players, but just take the L and move on, what you’re doing reflects poorly on yourself and your club.*

*Yes I’m aware Adelaide has their fair share of nuffies and I say the same thing to them.

Gee Whiz, what have stumbled onto here ?

Some Swans need to chill, most if not all clubs have lost a quality and required players to rival clubs for unders.

You also freed up more valuable cap space. The deal is honestly not as bad as you think imo

We are all aware that Sydney have been poaching key position forwards for decades right?

This sweet, innocent, hard done by act is bullshit.

Everyone plays the same game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Any club getting Buddy Franklin for free probably shouldn't be complaining about other clubs stealing their players for unders.
It's a free market that needs reform to ensure the investment made by clubs reflects the time, money and resources spent on developing talent. Under current rules, Adelaide has done nothing wrong but the slimy tactics publicly endorsed by your turd of a director Mark Ricciuto to assure the acquisition of Dawson leaves a bad smell in the air.

Sydney did nothing wrong in acquiring Buddy Franklin either but we ended up being unjustifiably punished for doing so by the very body that runs the game because we spoiled their intentions. But sure, we got him for free...

The only part that really pisses me off in regard to this whole sh*t show is during media discussions this trade period both SA clubs were on record to state how long they've been interested in Dawson since following his progress in his draft year. This is despite the fact that both clubs had multiple opportunities to take him before the Swans selected him with pick 56.

So, your club is full of sh*t to start with, then when Dawson finally comes good the desire is clearly high (as reflected by the $3.3 million dollars you have offered) but then you try to smooth things over again through the media by publicly stating that you want a fair and equitable trade to reflect his value. Playing both sides is nauseating and everyone can see through the used car salesman routine.

Say what you will about Dodorio but at least he's transparent as I wish Adelaide were in this instance. A simple, "he's asked to come home, he's nominated us as his preference and he's out of contract so his value is diminished when compared to a player that is under contract. Take what you can get or we will roll the dice at the PSD."

Bravo. Glorious melt.

Thanks Sydney BF, is been a fun 2 weeks, hopefully we don't talk for another 2 years (when Stephens comes out of contact), stop taking SA players, we've mostly stopped taking Vic metro for the same reason. Keep up the solid development of local players.

Well someone has to as certainly Adelaide can't develop players.

Not a lot of players in our best 22 these days that we have not developed. You're going by information that has been outdated for at least 5 years.

Yeah but you still don't develop your own Key forwards. We all know you're preparing a monster offer again for once Buddy is off the books.

Also you can't really claim to be good at developing players when you can't even win a final with all your self developed talent.

Jones, Crouch, Thilthorpe, Sloane, Walker, Brown, McHenry, Schoenberg, Laird, Milera, Fogarty, Smith, Doedee, O’Brien

That’s 14 guaranteed best 22 players drafted by the club.

Keays, Dawson and Seedsman are the only three guaranteed best 22 players who we’ve got from other clubs, and Keays was delisted while Collingwood weren’t too fussed about giving us Seed.

The rest of the spots are up for grabs I’d say and will mostly be filled by players we’ve drafted.

McDonald looking very promising.

You'll still make a massive million dollars a year offer to another key forward the instant you lose buddy. Then you'll complain when you lose McDonald who will be annoyed at how he has to play second fiddle both in pay and on the field.
