10 days until the trade period.
I think we are doing ok as far as trade targets are going.
Logue and Tucker have already asked for trades.
Hunter Clark seeming likely.
Just those 3 would be our best trade period in a number of years.
I think we get those 3 and maybe a couple of dfa's.
Much improvement expected from me.

Mate those three mean three less shitmen, that fyi is a grand thing. Plus Phillips, TT and pick #1.
Leaves only about six shitmen in our starting 22 each week.

We should seriously consider trading pick 1 to Essendon.

Pick 4 would still ensure one of Cadman, Sheezel, Tsatas or Wardlaw.

In: 4, f1
Out: 1

This would give us 2 shots at pick 1 next year with perhaps the currency to trade up to it even if we miss.
I’m not sure why this needs to be stated again, but with the top 4 (excluding Ashcroft) being so tight, why the f*** would anyone do that deal?

They wouldn’t.

No one is giving us a bite of the top 4 and another first next year (a much stronger draft) for pick 1.

Jack Bowes hey, did someone say celery dump?

Pretty much spot on.
We need to get to the point our first round pick does not command a spot round 1.
They probably will again next year but I am hopeful for the year after.

I think we are to get a answer from hunter Clark by early next week real keen to play with LDU apparently 🤞

So it looks like Bowes + #7 is going to be a reality for a very lucky team this season.

But if the first team to majorly benefit from a pure salary dump trade in the AFL is Geelong after they've won the premiership, the entire concept of "equalization" needs to be put to bed. We can look forward to the same 4-5 teams dominating indefinitely.

Win more games and don't look pathetic on field and players will want to come to the club. Its only a never ending cycle if you let it.

So your solution to the issue of an unequal playing field is "get good"?

I don't disagree with your sentiment, but what I'm saying is that salary dump trades should be a tool for rebuilding teams not ones playing in the grand final this weekend.

I know the response will be "it just shows how well maintained the Cats salary cap is" but it's infinitely easier to sign your own players for unders when you're already a good team.

Improve the teams fitness and we'll get a lot better on field.
