2022-23 NBA Week 1: Drama for Wembanyama

Less than 3 days to go before the 2022-2023 season commences. Lest this be a special season not due to the crowning of a potential new champion, should the Warriors fail to repeat, but for the race to the bottom. The prize? 14% chance of securing the no 1 pick, and with it the newly termed Alien Victor Wembanyama the 7'2" point-shooting-centre.

There will be many distractions of course throughout the season, some consensual.

The season tips off with West and Eastern powerhouses colliding:

The Celtics minus coach Ime host traditional rivals from Philly. The 6ers look stacked with the addition of PJ Tucker, D House and Montrez Harrell. Lots of flexing here.
Meanwhile out west, will we see Draymond Green clocking a Lakers player? Let's hope it's Westbrook

Thanks for your patience during the off season. May the banter begin.

Not sure who you mean by two.

But Utah want to be terrible this year. And they still have quite a few very solid NBA players that would go straight into the Lakers rotation.

Trading for the two Lakers 1sts would make a lot of sense for Utah.

Same with a lot of teams though who are tanking. There will be teams that want to tank but start with a 500 record and panic. I think the Lakers will have lots of options if they can be patient for a bit.

No one wants anything to do Westbrook though. He would just get bought out or sent home for the year once traded.

So the Lakers get some of Beasley markkanen conley clarkson olynx ?

That doesn't look that great...

Hartenstein could be one of the good cheap buys last year in FA

Does a bit of everything
Knows his role and sticks to it. Didn't like when the Rockets let him go originally.
