Well that was shit.

I was hoping beltings like that were well behind us, but alas they are not.

All of a sudden Archer is two weeks away, Charlie isn’t right, Wardlaw goes down with concussion, Sheezel looks sore, Darling looks really sore, Zurhaar looks stuffed and we have a 5 day turn around to front up against the Dogs and the 2’s got belted.

A week is a long time in football hey?

Don’t even know what to make of that performance. There was never any fight from the opening bounce.
We were never in the contest. We never got to work. There was no periods of domination or momentum swings or any resistance at all.

I just don’t know why this group feels it can continue to dish out these types of results and either not care or choose to not care about the corresponding fallout?

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, we are not a serious football club. We don’t know how to be one.
We look at games that come up week on week, and take a result on value right there and then, rather than planning and building towards something greater.

That’s why the sugar hits against Melbourne and Carlton paper over cracks that show this side doesn’t have what it takes to go that extra mile and stop being a struggling football side.

We have been here too many times before and there needs to be a circuit breaker.
A sizeable cultural shift.
So at what point does the playing group say enough is enough. When. When will it happen.

There are simply not enough consequences for losing games of football right now and until that changes within the club, we’re all ****ing delusional about believing we’re going anywhere. All of us.

100% agree, after a performance like that even though some players do it, I don't want to see anyone smiling when walking off the ground, but he has always done it so I don't think he's ever going to change.
Wonder if he wears life be in it t-shirts to funerals?

Happy to just be an AFL player. We have had this stinking culture for far too long. Clearly he is not the only one otherwise we wouldn’t have these fluctuations in effort and workrate. I’ve had a gut full. They can get ****ed Thursday night I ain’t going.

My opinion is we were mentally cooked before the ball was bounced. At no point did we think we could win. Or that it would even be close. The physical nature of the previous weeks was replaced by timid bullshit of a team who knew it was done before we started.

Making this coming week a real test. If they want to show real improvement we need the margin to be circa what it was the first time we played them. If Thursday night is a blow out we’re going to be in some real trouble to the end of the year.

If last week is what we want to be, boy it’s pretty fragile if it can be broken so easily.

Last week was a broken Carlton. Who still ran rings around us for one quarter. There are signs but meaningful improvement appears a long way off to me. Too many holes in the list.
It was a better two months of footy, but we beat West Coast, a struggling Carlton and Richmond. Two of those barely.
At some point we need to take a real scalp.

You can’t question the club. We won a flag last year. The club and the players “know we are on the right track”. It’s just gonna take time.
Ignore teams like Haw and Adel whose rebuilds started after ours.
Don’t worry that Richmond’s rebuild is at the same stage as ours despite starting 3 years later.
The fact we get reamed by any quality team is all just part of the learning curve. Improvement isn’t linear. Clarko warned us it would take time.
We know where we are as a club. The guys just need to realise competing for 2-3 quarters isn’t good enough.
Sonja and Jen are doing a “wonderful job” steering us through these murky waters.
Bring on the Dogs - the boys will come out breathing fire - mark my words.

Wardlaw was subbed off in the second quarter after he was hit be a legal Conor Nash bump.

I think if you scone someone the bump can’t be legal. Not sure if you also do the hit after the whistle has blown for a free. Or if your shoulder hits them in the head and they are subbed off with concussion.
Have a look at the replay.
Wardlaw ran into Nash.

Well, it came to the annual event of being on this earth for another lap around the sun only to have that happen… so situation normal anyway, just another week we were guaranteed to lose :(

Why do we draft slower , shorter , can’t jump , unskillful , soft , no game awareness players.

Getting smashed in the contest but the players don’t think lets man up for a few contests to minimise the easy exits.
With the above the defenders should have repositioned to be able to see where their opponents were.
Two worst opponents for us in back to back weeks and off a short week.
We can’t cope with downhill skiers and the worst part is that the dogs are even better at it.

Why can’t we make it a dogfight - we’re a pack of soft squibs

We are clearly coached for that defensive positioning. I'm not sure players like it either.

Not a fan of Kings takes on the club. Too harsh when we have a poor performance, then jumps on the shit when we play well. We had an off night - move on
I am not a fan of King at all. Don't care what he has to say good or bad.

Mitchell will have them ready to smash us every time we play.

Their strengths apply devastatingly to our weaknesses, matchup nightmare.

I’ll still be there Thursday night.
I just hope they are at least competitive Thursday in front of the players coming to celebrate the Centenary. I would be horrified if this was next Thursday and they had to watch that.

I genuinely can’t work out if you’re being sarcastic? 😂
