It's also really unfair that the destination club doesn't have to give anything up. Should have to give up the amount of draft points that the original team gets.
eg. Williams gets pick 10. Carlton needs to give up that much draft points (like they are bidding on him- maybe add a discount or something)- then at least it doesn't screw over all the other clubs

This is my biggest problem with the Free Agency system, that you get players for nothing other than money. It should impact your draft hand in some way depending on the value of the player.

Academy picks don't affect us. If anything academy players going high benefits us later in the draft.
Fact is, if pick 2 remains pick 2, we’re not getting access to the second best kid in the country - because of the academy system we’re getting access to the third. And so on through the draft.

The idea that these picks were never available to us is fine in theory - in practice we are moved back in the talent pool. Unless, of course, you believe the myth that kids of this calibre would never have taken up the sport without the academy.

We have a unique gem in Tarryn.. the gripe isnt with Acadamy.. its compensation thats giving me aids

They might not have gone as high in the draft tho.
