OK, its a 'nanaberry' smoothie made by Steele Sidebottom. With Blairy, he was manning the 'smoothie station' at the back of the room, and we were invited to have them make our smoothie of choice. Nice.

I'm with AD, my first take was nanna and I thought "well you are a grandma, but that's a bit harsh from Sidey"

Then we were told it was Darcy Moore's recipe.

Then Darcy had to drink a smoothie made by Blair, and he fished out the banana bits because he 'didnt like banana'.

Broomy was sitting at the table behind us. He must have felt very uncomfortable with all this banana talk.

That Goldy playing through with one arm was one of the bravest (he may have said 'the bravest') acts he'd seen on a footy field.

Also reminded us fans not to believe everything we read or hear about player salaries - was that a reference to Mayne?

Totally agree re salaries of players.
I have it on excellent authority there are differences between what is reported about salaries v the contracts itself. They can have clauses, eg if you play X games in three years the 4th year is triggered etc.
But anyway the media will always report what sounds "the best" for them.

Other brekky topics discussed at our table (some of which were raised by robertg22 and were great at keeping the conversation going).

Sledging: Varcoe said he didn't do it, and would be worried about following up with 'clangers' if he did. Schaz and Crisp were both no to sledging, but all agreed Tay Adams is the team sledger. I'd add Treloar to that, but I dont think they mentioned him. But they all enjoyed Dunn's 'shot gun' sledge on Mathieson in the Brisbane game.

AFLW: Schaz was up for talking about this, and we discussed the games and the players. Agreed with me about losing Alicia Eva, and that she was a very good player for us this year. He also brought up their low pay, which will inevitably result in the girls moving around for better opportunities.

Going home: we didnt discuss this with Schaz (gulp), but Crispy is a country boy from north-east Victoria, around Myrtleford, and wants to go back there when his AFL career is finished. Seems a straightforward sensible guy. Loves the hill country and would like to raise a family there.

Thx Q. Yes we did discuss BF with Schaz. First up he asked who we were sponsoring and when I said 'you', he was surprised. I think he was thrown by different BF sponsors turning up at the various events. So we explained how the BF sponsorship worked, and then we got onto the forum itself. Refreshingly he knew little or nothing about it, and both robertg22 and I politely advised it's best if he kept away. He genuinely didn't know, perhaps naively, that footy fans in these forums conduct warfare on a daily basis, and that the players are spared little in the way of heavy scrutiny and criticism.

Saw him once, in the distance, with a kind of aura around him. But I didn't want to repeat my effort with Maynard, so I left Kirby alone. He was fortunate.
