good kid, really excited for the future but he's definitely not AA quality like Duncan. Get him in at (almost) any circumstances.
Duncan is a great player when fit, but 12 weeks out- he is not that good that he just steps in and performs as if no issue, imo

Would you personally take the risk?
I would need to know what sort of shape he's in, what training he has done, what boxes he has ticked.
Underdone players in finals have historically been found out.

If he's fit enough, bring Duncan in, and have Holmes as the sub - best of both worlds. Play him at HFF, and let him deliver the ball inside 50, with Higgins playing more mid minutes.

There's no point erring on the side of caution with Dunc, because he's gonna need to play at some point. Giving him another week, when we don't have scratch matches, VFL or practice matches - due to covid - makes it completely pointless holding off players longers; as they won't get match practice unless they play AFL anyway.

to this point, what would be the issue surrounding his ability to play AFL?? Would he have ticked enough of the boxes in terms of hurdles and testing as well as strength and stability of the muscles surrounding the knee joint. Would probably be lacking functional boxes ticked such as performing 100% simulated training and game day drills

I doubt anyone on this board can know.

7 news confirming Dangerfield pulled up sore, anyone know any more about this?
Who isn't sore at this time of year?
He'll be in ice baths for a while.
We can not beat Port without him, Duncan and Stewart.

A half fit Duncan playing at half forward with 20% time in midfield is way better than higgins ever will be.

Who comes out for Duncan and Tuohy? Holmes is the easy one, then you start looking at Atkins, Closey and Simpson, who would all be stiff to miss.

He might be sore but nothing I have seen from any source suggests he has an injury that would keep him out. That said, with the way Scott plays ducks and drakes who knows whats going on.

7.30. Scott said Dangerfield was ill....... and thats why he was off the ground for a long period in the last quarter
