Terrible loss from Collingwood. From all reports on a bit of a lighter training load trying to improve their game day performances. Worrying, the wobbles may have started earlier then usual.

I knew Hawthorn have owned Collingwood the last few years but I still picked the pies.

Clearly the Pies weren't trying because they're clear out on top and knew Port would lose. They've probably maintained their points from 1st to 2nd while improving their percentage, so their loss is really a win.
And something about the flu.

The Hawks selections smack of damage mitigation. They have brought in some experience/mature bodies (Scrimshaw, Morrison, Kosi). The problem is the ins are not great. Pies to bounce back hard.

Well, Hawks did lose to Collingwood last year by 4 points, and lost in the bubble season, but generally have done very well against them over the past decade or so.

Which is very poor of them. Everyone knew Maginness was going to tag him. Mitchell even announced it days earlier.

To not put in blocks and just make body contact the get Daicos so space was very poor.

Perhaps been sipping their bath water too much.

Finn wasn't even putting a hard tag on daicos. He simply sat between him and the ball carrier, which meant any attempt to link to him was loopy and over the top - daicos does not put his body on the line so it effectively took him out of the game

Hawks have 3 tough games to come. Will be interesting to see how they go now their confidence is high. After the Richmond game, yesterday's was a nice reinforcement for them of their capabilities, and how to finish a game.

Pies look lethargic, second to ball, chasing the game. It's hard to stay primed for the whole season espesh when you believe you are locked in. Cats did them a huge favour, otherwise, they'd be even more jittery than they were in defense yesterday.

A lot of the sheen has gone. Finals oppo will now fancy themselves.

It must be frustrating for Hawthorn fans - you can do this to Collingwood and Brisbane, yet lose to Gold Coast by 11 goals.

Having a large group of young inconsistent players, they’ve all had a bad game at the same time, or they all have had a good game in the same game.
