Argo Hinkley and Argo Koch - piss off from my club you frauds.

As I've said elsewhere, the best list does not necessarily mean the most experienced, and experience (multiple pre-seasons building up the resilience needed to get through a full season + finals) is required to ultimately be successful. Then you've got the luck of who is injured and who isn't - soft tissue injuries can be fixed through conditioning, but the injuries that our players had were nothing to do with that.

You put a fit and firing Dixon, McKenzie, Lycett, Marshall and Finlayson up against Brisbane and GWS instead of a side that is hobbling to the finish line, and things would have been a lot different. Imagine if in 2013 or 2014 we were missing the equivalent of those players leading into finals.
Again you aren't entirely wrong, but you put a fit and firing McRae or Kingsley in to the coaching box and things definitely would have been totally different.

There's no shame in doing everything you can and not getting there, and you have to address injuries and missing players, but good teams address all areas of weakness. Our coach is a massive weak spot in this club.

Backed up by the biggest weakness we have - our chair

West Coast won their most recent premiership with Naitanui, Sheppard and Gaff on the sidelines ā€” in a year they were universally expected to bottom out with the retirements of Priddis, Mitchell and Petrie.

Stop indulging Koch and Hinkleyā€™s gee shucks little widdle loser culture.

of course, Ports 2004 flag came with Primus and Francou on the sidelines with James on one leg And Wilson with no shoulders.

Late edit: and Lade also went into the game with pain injections for his back?

How gutsy was Michael Wilson!!!! He certainly didn't think finals were scary......

Choco on record that he never believed in a coach award on game day, but if he ever gave one he would have given it to Wilson on GF Day 2004.

And he didnā€™t get a single kick or tackle.

He also ignores the 2004 premiership in the broader sense that this was a team that proved we could compete and win on the AFL stage and weren't just a small fish in a big pond. His little battler club mentality is a self fulfilling prophecy.

I believe this is part of why Hinkley also notably ignores the history of the club, past players, celebrating past premierships, great eras, great coaches, great administrators.

The second he's subject to comparison with anyone, anywhere it looks insane that he still has a job.

When the new training facility is finished I wouldn't be surprised if they don't hang all the premiership flags on the wall like in the old one - even just the 2004 AFL flag might place too much expectation on today's players.

According to Warren Tredreaā€™s episode of Open Mike, Lade had stress fractures in his spine, and was a 50/50 call.
