Just got back from doing business interstate to discover that after a very long hiatus from the VAFA Boards, Moss Rocket ( I wonder whose second BF A/c that belongs to ;) ) suddenly decides to deign me coach of the OC unders. Jeez I feel honoured, will I need bodyguards to shield me from the papparazzi at the badlands tomorrow?
Not TK nor TM nor for that matter EK, still laughing at the last one
Game over
Back to the footy
Ormond
OTrinity
OM's
St B's- IMO SK were lucky to win last week
OC- well it maybe my last chance to tip them in B sect for a season

The badlands?

Hampton Rovers avoided relegation in a classic encounter when the Rovers defeated Ormond by just 4 points to keep their spot in B Section in 2010. The result will mean that the Rovers & Old Carey stay up; Ormond & Old Camberwell are relegated to C Section next year.

Great win Old Carey , will be interesting to see who take the last finals spot- well done Hampton; bring on the Geebung tonight

The game between Hampton Rovers & Ormond is a perfect example of why the promotion/relegation system that currently in use in the VAFA is working well. It was a virtual 'elimination final': win and you keep your spot for next season, lose and you could find yourself playing against teams like AJAX and Oakleigh in C Section next year.

Great point North....17 wasted rounds!!!

Was out at Righetti today to see SKOB salute. Finals should be cracking...which ever poster suggested that Bernies and OMs are clearly better than the rest was obviously just stirring the pot. Anyones Cup.

A return of Great point to you MIO, as you only have to look at what happen to Caulfield in C Grade today, absolutely smashed by Melb High after being the dominant team all year.

How shattered would Clanger be. As reported by Terry McCann's brother, St. Bernards were of the belief they had a mental edge over their Eastern Suburb counterparts.

Tips.

OM's smash Skevs.
St.B's just over OT's
St.B's just over Skevs
OM's comfortably over Burnies GF day.

Unlucky Ormond. Lots of injuries in 2nd half of year, brave yesterday.
Old Camb will slip into D Grade within 2 years. Just doing it all wrong down there.
Glad to see Carey stay up. Full of kids. Must be a dozen teenagers running around there.
Hope Trinity dont go up. Not sure how old Rambo is, but take him out and they would struggle.
OM's will turn it on in finals and win easily.

hotly contested game at boss james. ormond's slow start costly in the end. don't like seeing district clubs going south as the competition is better when there are competitive district sides in 'a' and 'b' grades.

Hampton v Ormond - battle of the RAH-RAH-NUFF-NUFF Cup
Oms v Blacks - like your thinking on that one Tonto
Oh Vs OC - All is forgiven. OCam just terrible.
Skob v Bernies - silent but deadly Tonto.
OC vs OT - Great game by OC last week and at home will finish on a high.

we're all pissed off that you've had a cup named after you!

Unlikely Octopus.More likely to be in B than D within 2 years.Things sometimes have to go against you ,so that lessons are learnt.Old Camberwell have a solid number of quality kids in tow with more coming thru in the next 12 months (monitor under 19 results).9 unders played one's this year so the future is nowhere as bleak as you may think.

Nevertheless I accept that Old Camberwell currently belong in CGrade.....that's the great thing about amateur footy.....you generally end up where you belong.

Very brave. Fell behind by 28 points to half time and came back to within a kick, but couldn't quite find the lead. Kept challenging right to the final bell. Leo Barry's marking feats emulated right on the death knell in a 1 on 2 contest. Great win for the Rovers and a great fight from the Monders. I'd expect they'll be in B Section in 2011.

What form are you basing a Snowdogs grand final appearance on? and OC will be back in B grade next year.

Not unless two teams fold unless you are playing with semantics and mean Old Carey
OMs v SKOBS grand final unless one of those teams allows Trinity space, but even that would be an upset

Opps my bad....B grade in 2011. If High and in likeihood fielders can do it Camberwell should ease back into B grade in my opinion.

surely blacks must be shattered about just falling short

as unbelieveable as it this sounds they would've just about gone in as favourites if they had've snuck into 4th spot

preview
Om's- I think they are the clear favourite despite losing in round 18. Too much class and way to much depth. Will be by far and away the best suited team on the big ground at HQ
Skob- hitting form at the right time of the year... have the 2 best onballers in b section...
Bernards- probably the opposite of skob... can we regroup?
Trinity- have the best forward in b section, 3rd best onballer, some super youngsters. recent form ok. lost previous 2 to bernards only concern

For mine the back end of the season shows were clubs are at for the finals.

If the halves were reversed the ladder would be:

SKOB:- 7.5 wins
OH :- 7
OM:- 7
UB :- 6

StB:- 5
Old Carey:- 4.5
OT:- 4

Grand Final: OM vs SKOB

However all 4 teams would be happy OH did not make the finals.

OH would be sitting back today ruing their R6,R7 & R8 losses to Old Carey, Ormond and Hampton respectively.

OH beat SKOB & STB TWICE this year and OT once.

honourable mention to Old Carey who were 1/10 to be in C Grade next year a few weeks back.

Interesting stuff CC.

The worst thing is that after this week, one of Trinity or bernards will get a chance to go to A grade!

Would both need to improve their form considerably!

Nice to have a reasonable non-combatant post here, Unca.:thumbsu: A poor first half did the damage. Credit to the Rovers and good luck in 2010. Give the old school brigade hell.;)

Congratulations to the winner of a 50-year-old bottle of Scotch (pic): VAFA06, who squeaked in with a single tip and shows the benefits of not missing any tips.
