Batsmen do it every ball. It's a complete fluke ass dismissal. Doesnt add anything and is just a blight on the game.
A bowler bowling a half volley and the batter mishitting is also a fluke ass dismissal, but it's also out. If the batsman is allowed to back-up, the bowler should be allowed to run them out if they're good enough to get their hand on the ball when it's fire back at them.

Adds a good meter or 2 for the batsman, if they can't get out they'd push it to 3. Why shouldn't it be out? Going the other way, how many runouts are avoided because the batsman makes it by however much they were backing up by to run a quick single? It's another advantage to the batsman if they can't get out that way. Let them run the gauntlet otherwise they'd get away with a lot more quick singles down the keepers end or running 2 for a ball fielded to long on.

Its just unlucky - like dragging one on from 4 ft outside off stump. Part of the game, princess. You wouldn't pick the bails back up and sort the stumps out plus have a dead ball called for that, would you?

Didn't necessarily say it shouldnt be out. Said it was a joke and a blight, its a s**t part of the game. Maybe unavoidable based on the rules, but still a s**t part. People on here don't know what they're arguing against, I didnt say it shouldn't be out.

Such a waste of time. If they don’t go off to begin with they’d be able to play in that. Also don’t know why an extra 30 minutes isn’t allowed for per game just in case 2-3 overs is lost.
