Its especially interesting as opinions on these match ups have diverged quite a bit.

We do have plenty of options in defence altough I do fear that Lappin is due a good game and I dont think Archer is the man for him.

Northbhoy, I am a Nottingham Forest supporter. We may be seeing you in the English Div 1 in a few years.......

On Arch - fair enough, who is the better option?

On Celtic joining the English first div - Hey? How do you come at that Stern?

Carlos

I assume Stern is talking about the proposed move of the old firm to the English leagues.

With the present Celtic squad I reckon we would finish middle table, occasionly giving the big boys a shake, and beating heck out of the bottom teams.

And Carlos, despite the number of posts on this board, there aint much hardcore footytalk that goes on so it is nice arguing with you!!;) .

On Archer - I think Makepeace should be given the job on Lappin.

On Celtic - The other Scottish Premier League clubs (ie not Rangers or Celtic) are talking about breaking away, basically so they stand a chance of winning something. It may mean that Rangers and Celtic will have to join the English league, probably starting off at Div 1 level.

Other than that they may have to play each other 36 times a season.....

I dont necessarily disagree on Makepeace. I have faith, although Lappin's height advantage may be an issue. Certainly deserves a go, but i stand by my assertion that Arch is our best option. In fact he has pretty much developed into our best option for EVERY bloody gun forward our opposition has. Not necessarily the best scenario either!

And such a move would at least dispense with the necessity for Celtic and Rangers to play the also-rans and cut to the chase! Its a two horse race regardless!!

Seriously though, the prospect of Celtic V Liverpool/ Rangers V Man U/Celic V Arsenal etc etc in season 2003-04 (after they both get promoted) is indeed mouth watering!

Look out for Corey. Let's not hope he has a good game against his old side as other players seem to do. Who whall match up on him anyway?

Oh and i shall look forward to Rangers and Celtic getting their butts whipped by Man Utd when they make it to the premier division!! Good thing if they do leave the scottish premier league, as other teams will have the chance of winning trophies since both teams have shared most if not all throphies for about the last 15 odd years!!

Have the Blues got a young ruckman? Lindsay Smith perhaps? He can play forward too, it might be worth giving him a run.

Nooooooooooooo!
On Saturday, Smith is Rod Crowe's beetch.

imagine the number of red cards they could get if they played each week! talk about a battle of attrition - they'd be down to their apprentices by the end of the season.
