JJ > Garcia > Wallis

Speed kills.

JJ has been there and done that. Not only will we need his speed, but the pressure, experience and line breaking ability are a skillset most qualified to defeat Port. JJ is a fairly reliable kick for goal too (I know he missed an easy one against Brisbane, but usually he delivers).

JJ has none of those skills, his best talent is hiding from the opposition and avoiding any form of contact

Robbie Gray (the other chucker) and Fantasia also on light duties according to nine news

If Martin is fit and selected it is all time ducks and drakes from Bevo.

would open the door to move Bont to the goal square and basically tag Allir.

Martin and English 55% 45% give our midfield a good chance even without Bont. Wouldn’t that be a fascinating turn of events

Bont ain’t tagging anyone.

Bont is the one being tagged

It’s the Bont after all

Port players sorting out accommodation for families in Perth, seems a little presumptuous to me.
As a fan who hates the idea of being presumptuous at all, I still think you'd be a bit naive if you didn't realise that this has to happen given the limited accommodation, limited flights, etc available, and a possible huge contingent of SA people flying over.

I mean if you look at flights from Adelaide to Perth at the moment they're up to $1500ish return. In fact with Qantas it's seemingly better to fly Adel to GC to Perth, or Cairns to Perth. It's shit that we have to buy in advance, but if you don't and Port did win, our fans would regret it when they're up for several hundred extra. If Melbourne's borders were open it'd be even worse!

Importantly though it's easy to make all the accommodation and flights cancellable for free. Which means there's really zero risk, and you're at least prepared if the dream is realised.

Good luck this weekend, going to be an epic game. Can just feel it in the air. An all time Prelim and true 50/50 game.

Bit like when our fans started lining up for Grand Final tickets at 3/4 time of the 1997 Prelim.

Don't get ahead of yourself Port.

If I was Bevo, I would be using this as motivation 100 per cent.

Treloar to take some of Bont's midfield time seems obvious, but Bevo likely to have something else up his sleeve.

Treloar did have a good second half in the Essendon game but the team was well on top. He hasn't played well basically since he came back in a game where it's been an arm wrestle or we've been up against it. I'm pretty concerned that there isn't an easy fix. I hope he's well and it is just a form slump.

There are some things we can do at selection to mix it up (I'd personally bring Wallis in for Weightman for leadership and hopefully for the lift it might give the group), but bottom line is we've got some gaps in our structure that Port don't have atm and they've had the rest/no travel/home ground/no quarantine etc. It'll be a mighty effort to overcome it and it'll take a top level effort from all 22. The good news is that this club has done that in the recent past so here's hoping Sat night is another proud night.

I didn't think Treloar was all that bad. Yeah not his best but when it was his moment he did his part with a couple of strong tackles, one of which led to a goal from memory. He'll get better, just needs to adjust to a new role.

Is everyone else ******* loving this??

Its springtime, our boys are alive with every chance of making a grand final.

They are maturing in front of our eyes, as they face the challenge of quarantine, flying all over the country. No complaints, just smiles, anything is possible.

I love this club and will enjoy every minute of this week supporting our boys. How lucky are we!

Shout out to the BrizVegas supporters too! So proud of the way you supported the team!
Honestly it’s ****ing awesome, I was so down on us throwing away our season in 3 weeks but that’s just because I genuinely think we’re the best team in it this year and it seemed that we had wasted it but nothing keeps this group down. We just thrive on adversity and it’s so heartening to watch, I can’t stand the bullshit in the media/public about how gifted we are by the umps but honestly then I just think how lucky I am to follow this club. There’s just 40 odd blokes who genuinely just love playing footy together, we play footy the way it should be played. And I genuinely pity everyone else for the clubs they have to support that the only joy they get from footy is calling out shit umpiring 😂 we are just honestly great for footy right now, awesome team awesome bunch of bloke, extreme talent and we’re just getting started

Treloar plays in my view.

Especially so given that:

1. We need goals from our midfield given the absence of Cody and Bruce. Treloar can kick a couple of goals if he plays well.

2. Bont may not play or may play limited minutes in the midfield. Treloar can replace the Bont in the middle.

Treloar has not been in great form, but was one of the reasons why we improved in the second half against Essendon. He played a good half of footy only a week ago. We must back him in.
