That's a bit harsh - the game in late 07' (which is the one you're referring to) was when Brogan went down in the warm up and Choco spent the 2nd half emptying our forward line.
I'm a bit worried choco will recall Peter and Carr and bring in Thomas and Shaun at the expense of Stewart, Lower, Broadbent and Salter and we will be transport back to the 05' Semi Final.
Remember that was the game Lade was 'run into the ground' -did he ever recover for the rest of the season?
Our victories over the AFC during the Craig era have been when we have relied more on grunt, accountability and doing the 1%ers than on playing 'fast and attractive' football.
Chad or toby???!!!???!!!??? no offense but Im very glad ur not coach

a couple of our talls can play small too..5 players over 190 cms plus, get off the grass, especially on a Sunday "duey" night.
Harsh it may be - but essentially it is close to the truth. We could and should have ended their finals aspirations in that game. Remember that was the game Lade was 'run into the ground' -did he ever recover for the rest of the season?

imo.
experiance>raw youth in a showdown
meaning that i would think thurstans would stay
he has shown more than stewart to hold his position for this weeks game.
Berine Vince won a Showdown medal as a young vibrant individual!

Playing the Crows also usually gives him a massive revup, and while he wasn't a matchwinner last week (it's hard to be a matchwinner from the backline) he definitely played more than well enough by far to deserve a spot this week

I may have written poorly, work flat chat so I write alot hastily. What I have been trying to say Chad over the last 2 seasons has under performed)
Players not doing anything wrong is not a reason to not drop them, especially if there is a better player available.
How does chaplin coming back into the team set a bad culture? Players making way for better players is a fact of footy life.
Before Shaun got injured he was in very poor form, or was it just very lazy form.well, if you didn't mean chappy coming back was setting a bad culture, what on earth were you trying to say in that paragraph? Was chad holding his spot setting a bad culture?
I don't agree that shaun needs to spend time in the sanfl. If he can prove his fitness in training, that's enough. There's no need to test anything that wouldn't be testable in training. Same with hartlett, if he's ready he should be strongly considered for afl duty.
My issue with gold passes is when players who are in poor form stay in the 22. Like pettigrew who played a few more weeks than he should've. Players like shaun and hartlett who are fantastic players are walk in starts unless they're returning from a serious injury. That's just my opinion, i'm sure plenty will disagree with that.

We need players to play to 100% of their ability not to just above team average, whatever that might be.
Then he should have been resting it or getting treatment. Either way he shouldn't have been in the team.He was restricted by hamstring tendonitis in the early rounds, so hasn't actually not been injured this year.
