I was only joking about the media part just a jab at how they always ask about Grundy. I disagree with the second part I don't think the media quite down if he stinks it up, the 'was never going to work' brigade will be in full force. As much as I hate the media talking about it I highly doubt Goody did it to shut them up, you shouldn't be coaching if you're influenced by media agenda's.
Also, I think the media talk will quieten down if Grundy does nothing, the "so unfair" narrative won't have a leg to stand on, it will prove Goody right.
That sounds exactly the same as what could happen with TMac tbh.

I want second, I want a port qualifying final into a Brisbane Prelim which leaves a Pies GF on the cardsI'm kind of looking forward to it, intrigued. If it doesn't work no biggie, we will try something else against Hawthorn I'm sure. We've got 3 weeks to trial a couple of things and go with what works best, wouldn't surprise me if its 1 week of Grundy, (round 22) , 1 week of TMac (round 24) and 1 week with a shorter forward line/Schache/something else we aren't expecting (round 23)
have no idea what our forward line will be for a semi.

And Max goes back to Min cos he spends more time out of the ruckThere's definitely a lose. Grundy kicks 2, we lose by 30 points and get rebounded out the wazoo and everyone thinks Grundy's good forward
I want PettySo you want to settle on Grundy then? Make up your mind ffs.![]()

it's this.I want Petty
I dunno I think I'm leaning towards no one and making Petracca the man.
It is but it won't happenit's this.
I think do whatever to make sure Melk stays in when Fritsch gets back. I think only Trac or Smith make that possible. It is but it won't happen
If there is any chance of a smaller forward line I reckon it will happen when Slick gets back.
Grundy probably has the most 'upside' so to speak. In the sense that he's the best footballer out of all the options by a long way, and we may as well get a look at him forward before finals. Don't think he'll do much, but I'd take a stat line of 1 goal / 6 marks / took his man up the ground and away from JVR and Petracca.

Brown and TMac have both had multiple great seasons as forwards. By upside, I mean he's still got a few good years left at this level. Obviously he'll play out of position, but we know where we are with the other two. My preference is Schache, but that's never happening. Grundy is also a reasonable set shot, unreliable but he kicks 3 in 5.Nah. Most upside is definitely
If he's fully fit and actually jumping at the footy he can at least kick goals. Grundy isn't a good set shot, no forward craft and has no tackle pressure. Atleast Brown has leading patterns and an accurate kick
I'd say in the way you're using upside as he's the shittest an upside is anything better than disgusting.Brown and TMac have both had multiple great seasons as forwards. You know I love a battle of the minds with you, but can't you see the situation is disgusting? We find the mix at last and the bloke does his lisfranc and is out for a year. Its a f*n disaster, and only fixable because the rest of the team is hitting form. Brown and McDonald are finished, their bodies are shot, short of one last run at glory if they can get it together. Grundy is definitely the 'least shit' option if Schache isn't playing, because Grundy is fit and still a good footballer. The key is to not sacrifice any of Gawn's time around the ground. This has to be the equivalent of playing a tall out of position and leaving him there, not sharing the ruck load any more than JVR goes in usually.I'd say in the way you're using upside as he's the shittest an upside is anything better than disgusting.
70.59 for his career so about 50% when you consider shots on the full don't count
The situation is disgusting, to the point I don't see why we are shoehorning one in. I'd rather play an extra small or midfielder than playing a bloke just because he's taller then 6'3You know I love a battle of the minds with you, but can't you see the situation is disgusting? He's 10.4 this year, with few egregious misses.
For two reasons, IMO.The situation is disgusting, to the point I don't see why we are shoehorning one in. I'd rather play an extra small or midfielder than playing a bloke just because he's taller then 6'3
Not if Petracca and Melksham don't stand next to him and we aren't stupid with where we kick. Remember when Richmond shoved Vickery into a key forward role because you need a second tall and then they dropped him for Caddy and won the flag? For two reasons, IMO.
1). JVR can't ruck if there's no alternative tall forward
2). JVR will be isolated by top 8 defences from an aerial POV, and we need someone in there to create a contest
Whereas I'm more confident about this than I am the Sydney game in R24.Haven’t been this nervous about a H&A game for years.
