Injuries: Walker

Team I would play which would never happen under Pyke

Brown Talia Kelly
Laird Keath (if fit) Milera
Seedsman Sloane Jones
Lynch Fogarty Gallucci
Stengle Himmelberg/Jenkins Betts

ROB MCrouch Smith

Greenwood BCrouch Hamill McAdam

This is the team Don should' have been developing this year which the coach next year will be developing (whoever that is.)

Out: Jacob's Atkins Hartigan Douglas Otten Murphy Gibbs Walker (inj) Knight Mackay
Did you actually watch Betts for the majority of the game how he is still in an AFL team with his involvement in a full game if footy is beyond me

It shouldn't concern anyone if he was to go to another team, more fool them

Great bloke but completely cooked

What happened to CEY?

He'll be lucky to ever walk again. He copped the Van Berlo sled treatment as well as contracting parvo virus, before Brad Symes ran over him in his ute.

Jacobs was very poor.

To be fair he hasn't played in 3 months. Gets a go in of the best Matches of the season and against the premiers on thier home deck when they're flying.

If obrien is up to it, obrien plays but Jacobs can't be judged for that game on what we see.

After today..unchanged will be the mantra because as it is looking if we beat collingwood and gws beat the dogs then we are every chance of finals (essendon look shot and may struggle to win any games from here) and pyke no doubt has performance clauses in his contract that reward him for making finals

Seedsman for Otten to counter thier small fotwards.

Jenkins for Walker.

Andrew jarman for mckay. He's been stinking up division 5 amutuers , deserves a go.

Looking at 7 or8 of those players shows how we have stayed on the bus for a couple of stops too many. We have fallen for the old trap of trying to wring the last drop out of older and suspect players. Sheesh that's almost half a team !
Programmed renewal with youth is not something we do, and there are tougher times ahead. But it does cater for mediocrity.

I'd be absolutely fine with trying this. Drop Otten and bring in ROB. Who-ever isn't rucking go too the goal square and try and stretch that defense vertically!
I know there are a lot of eyerolls when this has been mentioned.

I think we all agree Otten is smart and skilled but with the handicap of glacier-like speed. I don't think we'd be losing anything compared to the gain of what ROB brings.

Sauce is a half decent set shot on goal but ROB is, well...anyway, ROB has taken some great contested marks deep in defence and his work in the packs is fantastic. Both playing on the ground at the same time could be catastrophic or it could be genius.

Is it a bit late in the year to experiment with this? Considering the Crows' object right now is to get in to the 8, I think they'll be conservative as usual and wouldn't take the risk.

Imagine the lampooning we'd get if it all turned to shit, with the big guys getting in the way of Tex and Fog.

I agree it has a very big 'risk v reward' feel too it. But to be honest I think we've played safe for essentially 44 straight rounds now.

Taking a risk to try and gain a reward is the kind of thing that can boost a team when it works!

I have no doubt the playing list love Sauce, but I also think they really think ROB deserves his spot. If the structure actually worked with them both, then I daresay it would lift the entire team!

RORY ATKINS...

Is there a footballer in the modern game that has played so many absolutely s**thouse games in a row and not been dropped?

He is in atrocious form.. utterly ******* atrocious.. yet he gets a call up week after week after week.

What do the selectors see in him?..

They see the AFC, he is everything the AFC currently is but should never ever be.

When this club considers itself a serious footy club wanting to win premiership is when Atkins and his type will never play another game for the Crows.

Holy hell, this weeks games are massive. Particularly WB vs GWS, Crows Vs Collingwood, Port vs North, Freo vs Ess.

If we get the perfect results (GWS, Crows, North, Freo), then there is a very real chance we can lose the last game against WB and still make finals (as long as they don't eat up approximately 6%).

If it goes the complete other way... Well, we are staring down the barrel of 11th place by the end of the round!

Round 22 is gonna be a big one!!!!

My take -
Douglas(cooked) > Greenwood
Betts(cooked) > Gallucci
Otten > Keath
Atkins > Seedsman
Hartigan > Butts

ROB 1 more rest.
Poholke in for Sloane if inj.

Skills training.
Hunt and Hurt, Get and Go!
the finals begin...

Yeah, its pretty nuts, win this and there is potential we make the 8 regardless or win and we may still not get there, lose and be overtaken by a few is the issue here now, we need to win this to stay further from Carlton as much as anything.

On the surface this is a good idea, but neither of ROB/Jacobs are athletic and would not offer any defensive pressure up forward. Plus, have you not seen ROB's kicking? It is diabolical.

We just got to nullify Grundy as much as possible, we will not win this ruck battle.
