Preview Changes V GWS

The next few weeks provide an opportunity to burn all the old fading gold cards and set sail towards our next premiership.

In round one some posters said it was fair enough to play all the fading journeymen, Crouchy needed to "earn" his spot. Once he was played guess what? he was well and truly ready.

We rushed back Nutta but Sam Kerridge was apparently nothing special according to some. Finally we play him and guess what? he can more than hold his own.

As Stiffy and Porps are given "O.K. we're serious, this is definitely your last chance", many supported the view that Lynch is too good for SANFL but will never make an AFL player. Three games in a row and is anyone calling for Lynch to be drop? Has anyone compared his output to the gold pass forwards? He's not made it yet but he have proven that he deserves a decent crack.

Then there is "too slow for the AFL" Lyons. Has anyone compared his output last week to Porps or Stiffy and Nutta's last match.

The next two weeks are a great chance to get game time into the KIDS rather than resurrecting fading gold cards.

I know you want to do it Sando!

In: VB
Out: Porplyzia

Tambling, Mackay another run, then maybe Brucey Laird for Tambling and Crouch for Mackay against St Kilda. Don't know who'll go out for Hendo just yet

If they don't drop Lyons I'll eat my own hat.

I feel it coming from a mile away.
My guess, based on the latest reports in this thread (from Sando's media conference):
IN: VB, Henderson
OUT: Lyons, Tambling

Laird to return next week, Crouch a week later (having both had a run in the SANFL to regain fitness after a period on the sidelines).

Tambling was and is just shocking. I cant believe we gave this a guy shot at our club.

To think he was picked ahead of Buddy is mind blowing.

With that said he has had plenty of opportunities to shine and just fails day in and day out.

Shame there's no SANFL games/selections on this week. Means we'll have to wait an extra half-hour to know the team this week. :(

Yeah, let's give Porps another chance and drop Lyons. He can work on his game in the SANFL. Oh wait a minute, he can have a weekend off watching the state game. Then he can work on his game in the SANFL, oh wait a minute, Glenelg have the bye. Well he can be ready for a return in late August.

Similar story for Rory Laird. They said he's fit and ready to go but let's give him a week off watching the state team. Then it will be too long since he's played so have another month at West Adelaide.

If you don't play Jarryd and Rory against GWS then when will you play him?

The squad of 25 is:
B: Andy Otten, Ben Rutten, Luke Brown
HB: David Mackay, Daniel Talia, Brent Reilly
C: Brodie Smith, Scott Thompson, Bernie Vince
HF: Patrick Dangerfield, Shaun McKernan, Jason Porplyzia
F: Tom Lynch, Josh Jenkins, Matthew Wright
RUCK: Sam Jacobs, Richard Douglas, Rory Sloane
INTERCHANGE FROM: Nathan van Berlo, Ian Callinan, Jarryd Lyons, Rory Laird, Ricky Henderson, Matthew Jaensch, Sam Kerridge

Jeez there's gonna be some heartache on that extended bench. My guess is Callinan, Laird and Lyons will drop out.

Here's hoping Mackay and Porps drop out.

Laird and one of the others in.
I agree, but won't happen.

usually players on the bench drop out unless a late injury.

Matthew Wright and Jason Porplyzia both named in the 18.

Yep, Lyons is dead. And then two weeks with no SANFL. Then probably a mid season injury. Before we know it the end of the season will be upon us and he'll join the likes of Aiden Riley and Brodie Martin in the 'can probably play but not sure so let's tag them along the edge for 5 years' basket. Good times for list management.

You can't knock the selections.

It's absolutely critical to see if Callinan, Porplyzia and Mackay can cut up a bunch of KIDS.

Very surprised Porps has held is spot

I don't understand this comment. He only played one game. It wasn't a good one, but it's still just one bad game.

It is really hard to settle a side with this kind of thinking.

I can't wait for the "Changes" thread after the GWS game. "All played well! Wow, selection headaches this week!"

Changes threads should not be allowed until Monday until everyone has had a chance to either calm down, or get their hand off it.
