Yeah im not really understanding people getting angry about injury lists amd status updates, can't see how it makes a difference at all.
You’re not angry that a qtr of the list have been injured due to the incompetence of the staff and they are trying to hide it?

I’m off topic but does anyone know where I can watch the footy at a pub in Hong Kong??... flying out tomorrow morning.

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app

When was in Hong Kong last August and September, and the Australia Channel was showing AFL football. Remember seeing the Adelaide vs Swans game on the Friday night and think it was the Melbourne vs Brisbane game on a Sunday. Was sightseeing on Saturday so not sure if any AFL games were shown.

Could you have read it any more incorrectly?

This issue is the club has made a mess of it and we are seeing players dropping like flies. To take the scrutiny off themselves they are lying. Think about it, individuals working at our club are lying to you to hide the fact they have ****** up. Surely as a member of the club you can’t be happy by the arse covering?

Then there is the next element to it, Burton’s appointment was seen by many as a job for the boys, his appointment a promotion for one of the boys and Hass’s promotion a consequence of that. These injuries bring into question whether we appointed the right people and makes a mockery of Fagans claim we will have the best football department in the country.

Hence they are all arse covering.
Arse covering, my arse.

Fair to say after reading Haas's LinkedIn profile I wasn't exactly filled with confidence. Burton's either tbh, particularly in comparison to Nick Poulos

I think the club wasn't banking of Poulos leaving, I'm guessing that they'd hoped that he would go back to his old role and stay with the club once Burton came in.

Hass was under Burton at Brisbane and was most probably the only guy that was gettable at short notice. It's laughable that we took him and promoted him even though he was a failure at Brisbane.

Whoever made the stupid decision to demote Poulos to bring in Burton created this mess and what has made it even worse is that everything that Burton seems to touch turns into complete shit.

Well that’s a quality response and doesn’t actually address what I wrote.
Why so many conspiracy theories? Thats what your post is. I don't believe the club gave out no, or misleading information about injuries for the purpose of individuals covering their arses. Simple.

Much the same as we all know that whenever Melbourne get around to sacking Goodwin, he'll immediately be installed either as our coach or in some senior role at the club.

Roo needs to get some balls and put the club before his mates.

If Burton is not sacked at the end of the year then the club is clearly putting mates before success.

Strike 1 - hamstring issues early last year which were clearly not addressed and have now compounded this year and are at an all time high.
Strike 2 - the mind camp which was his idea "Football boss Brett Burton first raised the prospect of a relationship with Collective Minds when he worked at the Brisbane Lions, running that club’s high performance."
Strike 3 - bringing across a rank amateur (Hass) (who struggled at Brisbane) to run our fitness program.
Strike 4 - Kangatech another Burton initiative.

His whole post football career has been surrounded by failure, yet the club still brings him here and despite four clear strikes against him the club is still backing him in?

So you’re loyal, naive but loyal.

Can you explain why the club has gone to great lengths recently to disguise hamstring injuries? What’s their motive? Early on they just announced them as hammys.

And you just know whose idea it is to lie about their failings.

Burton was installed after looking at "a long and talented list of prospective candidates from across the AFL and beyond, and quite simply Brett presented himself as a compelling option for the role. He is widely regarded as having the attributes to be one of the industry’s leading football administrators.” They'll use the results of 2017 and our good results so far this year as justification to keep him, infact they may even be MORE please with him now that we've been able to achieve a 5-2 record with our current injury issues. He isn't going anywhere.

It's probably the same way they used 2017 as justification for not reviewing Hass' position, even though he'd of largely worked off of what Poulos and Burton had built by the time he was hired. He wasn't actually originally hired as head of fitness either, they'd already agreed for him to come down as a strength and conditioning coach and just promoted him when Burton got the head job.

Thing is, you believe their motive is to cover their arses, yet you say I'm naive. Christ on a bike.

They all got together and said "we can't let this get out. We all have to cover our arses." It's pretty reasonable that I think that's Bullshit.

Why? You don’t think people and organisations do this all the time?

What did we do with the Tippett deal?

So you haven’t answered what their motive is to not tell the truth about our recent injuries. Why so hesitant to say the injuries are hammys?

You know, perhaps their motive is that it's is nobody's business but the club's to know the exact nature of the club's injuries, or who's injured or who isn't. Strategically as far as oppo teams are concerned, I believe it's a good way to be.

To say the reason we're not included in information available only to the inner sanctum is because Crow's employees are covering their arses, in my opinion, is ridiculous.

So why only recently have we avoided calling our hamstring injuries hamstring injuries? What’s changed from how we’ve always done it?

How many times have you heard or read someone from the club saying their isn’t an issue? Why would they be denying it?

We used the least number of players in the comp last year in making the GF. I wouldn't use that as an argument against Burton.

I can't actually recall the AFC being straight about any injury. That's how we've always done it. They weren't trying to cover their arses then.

The club's MO hasn't changed, why would its motive have changed?

The club is spinning so much shit at the moment when it comes to these injuries that I am struggling to believe how anyone doesn't believe that the club is trying to save face/embarrassment by trying to cover them up.

Much like Walker's apparently clear MRI where the club said "no hamstring damage", yet he missed last week and my mail is that he's still very much touch and go for Saturday night.

I never realised that not actually having any injury could be so debilitating.

Also, it was pretty dopey of Pyke to come out and say the hamstring injury crisis was behind us. All it achieved was to put more scrutiny on the club, particularly with Knight's injury yet to be disclosed (and we still haven't been told anything).
