Very selective there, how many disposals / tackles did he have? Does he run up the ground? If all he is going to do is Kick goals and nothing else then he needs to kick far more than 1 a game. A players lack of fitness is not exposed in the SANFL which is why Eddy consistantly looks great. I'm sure once the other aspects of his game come up to standard he'll be given another go. It's not like he hasn't been given a chance at all though, I'm sure if he'd been better in those 3 games he'd have kept his spot.

Wingard should be forward more and Gray in the middle more. Their current balance of times in both positions is completely wrong. It needs to be more 50/50.

So if Wingard spending some more time up forward this week results in fixing that balance, a couple goals and 20+ touches in the forward half and middle then we will win out over 39 possessions purely in the middle that didn't result in us getting goals.

Lacks the speed, disposal and nous that Bassett has for his defenders, the all have to cover 3/4 of the ground at speed. Jacko cannot do that.

Happy for Atley and Drew, but I doubt Ken has any intention of taking them to Perth. He wants to be seen to be doing something. We also needed a KPF - Doogs or Eddy - as Trengove is badly out of his depth up forward. Now we get to look forward to watching the Eagles defenders picking off the majority of our inside 50s. Ken's stuffed us at the selection table again.

It's no coincidence that our midfield has performed far better without R.Gray - he might look flash with ball in hand but his lack of defensive accountability kills us. Wingard gives us a much better balance.

The real problem is not that Wingard isn't forward, it's that none of Eddy, Monfries or Howard are.
