Yeah...They're either legitimately insane or just don't rate Eddy or Howard (or both)
It's Trengove that's the problem IMO. When Howard is ready to play ruck and they believe he is a better ruck/forward than Trengove then he'd be in.

I think Eddy won't get in until Trengove or a.key back are injured.

Right now I'd back in Trengove to give us a little more than Howard, but Trengoves inability to naturally lead and hit up at the ball is an issue for our team as it means we have 2 big key forwards who basically both play the same style of footy. Hence why a foil of Eddy for Dixon would be much better. But then where do we put our 2nd ruck, that's the problem.

Really happy to see Atley debut! Agree that he could be an asset for us, and if Wingard spends a little more time up forward that makes us more dangerous there and would hopefully help with our accuracy on goal.

Hombsch back in after a rest really solidifies our backline; I hope the rest helps him turn around his wavering form. I think Pittard should consider himself very lucky considering his poor game last week.

I'll be lonely in this thread but I'm a little disappointed in Neade getting dropped ahead of Impey; over the past few weeks I think Impeys form has been poor, and he is high on the list of culprits in terms of poor goalkicking. Has needed to be moved to the back lines a few times just to find the ball at all recently. Impey does have some weapons, so hopefully he can get some consistency in his game and start to improve his kicking and decision making.

Pittard is very lucky but he holds a gold pass and i agree with you about Impey. Neade cops a fair bit of crap, imo it is because of his size, if he were a little taller i think he would be an asset.

What I take from these selections:

1) Congrats Joey! Well deserved, although did we need another inside mid?
2) Is Palmer done? Surely our most consistent and in form SANFL mid/half forward
3) Why did Nicks say we have a problem that Eddy would solve only to not select him even as an emergency?
4) When Brogsy came out, why was Eddy brought in? Was it an admission we got it wrong initially? Was it a token gesture? Was Eddy just the fourth most in form player on a list?
5) Why was Brogsy brought back in last week if his ankle is dodgy?
6) Why are we running with under done players in Hombsch, Pittard and Hartlett when that hasn't paid off for us all year?
7) What is happening with Neade? He was brought in for defensive pressure, which was lacking. Whilst he hasn't kicked goals and is in average form, wasn't he selected when in average form anyway? Do we no longer need forward defensive pressure or is a KPD or inside mid more important?
8) If every other side manages to play multiple talls, why can't we?

You sure about that?

So Priddis and Mitchell are a little slow. Are we gonna SPP and Atley to sit on them and let Ebo and co. play the more attacking mid field role?

I assume Hartlett is still dodgy. Can't see Drew coming in for him given Ken's love for Neade and having potential backs of Pittard, Houston, DBJ, Jonas, Hombsch, Clurey, Impey, Trengove

According to white drew is the only 1 coming over

Ironically if you go to the Crows board there are as many people there that want Pyke sacked for being too tall as there are here that want Hinkley sacked for being too small. Maybe 3 is the magic number!

Counter attack was great until teams start sitting extra players back on us and blocking the slingshot. We'd then lose in a scrap.

We tried it for 2 more years after 2014 and it didn't work because the formula to counter it was so easy.

Houston on the bench. Could swing him forward, he's a smart enough footballer to get into good positions in the forward line. Then again, I hoped this last week too.

Wonder if Ken would take the punt on Drew if Hartlett doesn't come up? He's clever near goals. Houston then goes back into defence.
If it's not Eddy I'd love us to give Houston a gp as that lead up third tall.

Eddy late call up. Catches flight to Perth and arrives at half time time.

Dropped for less than 50% game time.

Make it happen, Port.

1. Does Ately play purely inside? I think he is a little inside-out and can kick a goal. It will be interesting how we position players and how much game time the first year player can handle (guess that depends on position too).

2. Possibly.

3. Didn't he, in response to a question, say Eddy could possibly solve a problem that we have, not that he would?

4. Token.

5. Given we always harp on about taking no risk, have to assume it wasn't the sort of injury that if he redid it, it would cause more than a week off, so the risk was minimal in playing him.

6. I don't believe any of those players are under done. Can you elaborate?

7. Really have to see how and where they all actually line up and play this weekend before knowing the answer to this. Maybe Atley releases Wingard to take neade's spot. Maybe Atley takes Neade's spot and they want to see if he can do a better job.

8. We do have multiple talls (Dixon Trengove Ryder Westhoff Clurey - Hombsch Jonas. What part of the ground concerns you?

WCE have gone tall. Our version of going tall is Neade replaced by Atley.
Selection night at random team about to play Port Adelaide:

Coach: "Is he over 190cm?"
Selector: "Check."
Coach: "Our work is done. Time for a beer."

NOOOOOO!!!!

Neade and Broadbent are out!
Atley! Seriously?! Atley? He doesn't have experience! How are we supposed to beat the Eagles away?!
