New attitude as a change says it all.... You cant even define the changes made so just create some buzz word.

New CEO and New List manager yes. Actual cultural changes. Umm id go watch the first half effort last week and let you come back to me on that one
New 'attitude' change is a meaningless buzzword, but lack of 'actual cultural' change is totally not a buzzword and evidence the club is failing.

We're likely to end up with pick 1, 2 or 3.

I'm not sure what we will be able to split one of those picks for, but I wouldn't want to pass on a top 3 mid regardless. We did it a couple of years ago for Ginbey and Hewett, jury still out on that one. We held onto Pick 1 last year and no one is saying that was a mistake.

Every draft is different but my inclination when we have a top 3 pick is to use that pick on the elite mid (or JK clone if one is available).

If we had something like pick 14 then yeah go the elite HBF.
A bunch of top 10 draft picks mids isnt necessary to win a premiership. Id swap pick 3 for a couple of picks if it netted a very good outside mid and a HBF with similar picks to what we got in 2022.
An elite HBF is just too important. Id rather 2 elite mids and an elite HBF than 3 elite mids every single time.
Elite mids will be available with a high pick every year, elite HBFs not so much.
The only elite running HBF taken in the top 20 over the last 2 years was Weddle in 2022 at pick 18, if one pops up thats in that range you take it

Its telling when the first guy tagged at GWS is Whitfield, even Jordan Clark was the guy the Swans tagged against freo on the weekend

Cartwheeling over losing by 70 points instead of 170 is too low a base for me to be excited by.

Id point out to the absolute trashheap that is the WAFL team, the minimal change in our injury management, the poor pre-season and then the grace of good luck that saved us from terrible decisiosn such as trading a top 3 in this draft for Curtin and giving Deven Robertson a big contract when he is very not good.

If you take out McGovern and Yeos AA like seasons, Reids impact and then actually look at everything else, its still a basketcase

Bringing up decisions that weren’t made as examples of things that haven’t changed … says it all.

Haha fair point to be honest

Cultural changes more or less refers to what Jako was saying

That change of direction and being a but more ruthless. It starts with the WAFC and our WAFL team. If we cant stand up to them, then I cant envision how we stand up to Richmond

Hope im wrong though

Normally I don't give a rats when people make stupid comments - and trust me you make more than your fair share - but seriously there is almost nothing in this post that is correct.

I get that these type of social media forums are all about expressing opinions but my strong suggestion is that when you get the itchy finger to type - maybe you just take a deep breath and just dont

You think the WAFL team is going well?, you think our injury list is okay? you think we didnt try trade for Curtin and Robertson?

Just a waffle comment without any context

Maybe try and explain what you are talking about instead of 1 line cheap shots of little substance

Our injury list is fine.

At one point last year we had 33% of all hamstring injuries across the competition.

That’s a real disaster.

Now we have 1- Flynn- who will be back in a couple of weeks.

Most of our injuries are context injuries. Can’t do much about Gov landing on his own elbow or Waterman hitting the turf head first, or long being tackled in a way that buckled his knee.

If our first ends up pick 3, getting Curtin with a year of development in him wouldn’t have been a poor trade.

Dev - who I think is a pleb would have been a future 4th round pick or thereabouts.

He might have got a game on the weekend given how low on mids we are.

Youre being outraged for the sake of being outraged.

1) the WAFL team is in a much better position than last year or the years before that both on an off- field. The issues were/are around the allowances by the league which they have acknowledged will change going forward.
2) WC injuries are no worse than any other club.
3) WC fitness levels are clearly better than in previous years - players themselves and football pundits acknowledges this.
4) yes we did try for Curtin and Robertson but not to the level you may suggest I.e. it was NOT a direct F1 for the pick that Curtin went at - there were other picks involved.

No disrespect but I'm picturing you as a 16 or 17 year old kid who talks first and thinks second. Because most of your posts are knee jerk, instant gratification, attention seeking dribble and you have the hide to accuse me of little substance.

Hewetts injury management was a abomination. Not sure how we leave that one out. We have had a constant trickle of injuries still and key ones too.

Getting better is 1 thing, being good enough is another. Our injury list still isnt good enough, especially for the younger guys

What exactly do you think Pyke could have done about the WAFL team? It was set up years ago and you don't just pull a team from a competition with no back-up plan. Not to mention contracts in place. As it is, they are considering other options such as the VFL. There's a reason the WAFL went down this path, they didn't want Peel and West Coast winning all the flags and destroying the competition. They went too far, but no one could have predicted the last two years of injuries and COVID.

Enough with him. You don’t need to explain and justify the club to Eaglessgio

Tell us about contract situation?

Any likelihood on Harley extending soon?

Have we made enquirers about Busslinger?

Rumours are that Chad wants to come home. Have we enquired? Would we try and do it this year or wait til he is out of contract?

Thanks in advance.

1) It simply isnt at a acceptable level. Stop BSing and pretending losing by 92 points instead of 105 is good enough
2) Not true when you go over pre-season, account for the many underdone players we have still and the like. We are getting better but still nowhere near good enough
3)Better but not good enough
4)It was a direct F1 for the pick pre draft. Dont lie. It was a 4 year contract for Robertson too...

I don't think social media is the place to discuss these matters other than to give my own personal thoughts which are
1) too soon
2) he knows WC's thoughts.
3) rumours are just that.

Looking from the outside, it’s unusual for a first round picks to be unsigned at this stage of their 2nd year. Do you think dogs are keen to re-sign Buss or are they waiting to see how he goes in VFL?

Hewett had a pre-existing injury from his draft year that the club didn’t know about becuase clubs don’t do draftee medicals.

His injury was managed almost exactly the same way Finn Callaghan’s was. He rested, was sent to the same specialist, had the same surgery.

It wasn’t mismanaged. It was handled in a standard fashion.

Using our 2nd rounder is much better value on Buss than splitting our first on Baker.

BOND 007 - I think there is a strong list of RFA/FA in positions of need this year.

Has the club identified any of those to strongly pursue. (Perryman is all class and a way better value option than Baker imo)

If you don’t mind giving your personal thoughts on whether a good and available HBF such as Hopkins in the MSD or Travaglia at the end of the year would be on the club’s radar I’d be deeply appreciative. Even just how you personally view them as players would be warmly received. A huge area of need in my view.
