Outstanding by Ireland, particularly Tim Murtagh. Abject from England, again.

85. That was glorious. Except for Thompson who was terrible -without him England would have been all out for 55 which is 5 less than the 60 they got us out for at Trent Bridge 4 years ago. Regardless, that was excellent and makes me feel a lot better about our own batting. Really going to be a question of who can buckle down, focus, and play those long innings.

Great result so far for Ireland and all test cricket playing nations looking into the future.BUT now is the big test for Ireland batting on this wicket which it seems has a fair bit of life in it.
Yep without wanting to burst Ireland's bubble, this is not going to be an easy wicket to score runs on.

Nevertheless they should be aiming for an absolute bare minimum lead of about 100 runs, but really their batsmen should be expecting to come back to the sheds some time tomorrow with about 250 to 300 on the board. Anything above that is probably a big bonus.

Yeap, pretty excited to see the Irish bat. Hopefully the Irish luck runs with us. Not trying to get ahead of myself but if Ireland become a competitive test cricket nation then it would be another massive cricket rivalry created.
