Not a fan of Ablett from a team perspective but he is an amazing player.
I loathe Selwood when he plays against us. But would have taken him in a heartbeat if we could revisit that draft.

Selwood has single-handedly destroyed one part of the game. His stupid instinctive ducking shrugging knee bend being gifted high tackles, that spread the the rest of the comp faster than a virus, has ruined the game. If he was holding a drink at a party, his stupid crooked arm lift would come into play just by touching him and he'd pour a drink all over himself. Stupid bastard.
Would hate to have to explain my own embarrassment if he'd played for us.

And Ablett? how many one-two handballs does it take to rack up 30 possessions. In a game against collingwood he got 53 possessions, handing it a player under obvious pressure so their only option was to give it back. His second possession was to bomb it blindly long in to the forward 50 directly to the opposition centre half back, who'd kick it straight back a pack would form apply rinse repeat. They lost by 102 points. Incredibly effective player if you like to bet on who gets the most touches.

And Diverfield? Bloody hell, his miraculous recoveries from the broken femurs mid quarter, his 2.22 frees per game playing for Geelong compared to his 1.45 frees per game playing in front of parochial Adelaide home crowds speaks volumes. His whispering to the umpire that he was going to take the ruck and then claim his man was blocking him and selwood's reaction to that speaks of two 5 year old kids jumping up and down because they passed a tissue paper off as a five dollar note. Not realising the shop keeper is just humouring them because he has been paid already by their dad.

Why couldn’t we have drafted Selwood and Cyril in consecutive years?

Pretty much what Brishawk said below. From all reports it was a miracle that Cyril lasted as long as he did so we were lucky to get him at pick 12 as it was. I reckon 1 pick later and he was goneski.

If we had Selwood in 2007 we likely win a couple more games and slide in the draft order behind Essendon.

Just incredible. You would think the amount of people who would have had to have signed off on this camp for it to happen would've resulted in it never happening. But the simple fact that it did happen means either no one in charge thought to veto or it went ahead with little to no oversight. Either way that football club have written the book on how to implode your own club culture in one long weekend. I feel bad for most of the players, but can only laugh at the club as a whole.

On paper the crows should have a good midfield, but unfortunately they have like 8 players that do the same thing so they get forced into back pockets and flanks

Their value is very low when their first instinct is to handball to a man under pressure, even more so when its their brother.

Adelaide looked better than Freo in the third quarter, and that was the quarter that had Crouch x2 playing minimal time in the middle, Sloane on the wing and Walker on the bench.

Sloane, although injured, is falling off a cliff at the same speed Jordan Lewis did.
