If we were to get Doedee or Mackay, the stand out player who could move into the midfield or even forward is Sicily. Sam has experimented with him in the mids but at the moment he is needed down back.
Imagine a forward line of Sicily, Lewis and Ramsden next year with Mackay/Doedee and Weddle down back.
All hypothetical of course but Sicily forward is more potent than DGB or Scrimshaw.

He signed a two year extension while at Geelong, was drafted in 2019 so that would take him to the end of 2023. I just wasn't sure if it was extended by us at the trade.

According to media reports out of contract, nothing from the club .

Sis and the club said he is a back man, failed forward.

This is the correct issue, and not a bad issue. We also need to relatively urgently, try the likes of Scrim, CJ, DGB (if we successfully attract Doedee) even Dimma forward, in my view. Otherwise some long term List decisions need to be made.

Not sure it worked. Nice goal in the last however. But keep persevering is my opinion.

Bring back Lewis, try Ramo, play Scrim forward (for a number of weeks), takes a bit off Greene and allows him to get a far worse Defender and we have a forward line that combined with our smalls, we have a chance, at least structurally.

I hope Nash’s form is a good reminder to some posters that there are reasons the club may sometimes persist with young players despite on the surface, not showing an abundance of elite traits. There are many things the club sees in terms of attributes and potential behind the scenes that we’re not privy to.

I think reeves will fall into this category as well.

I don't know, people are quick to get to conclusions without looking at it the right way.

Nash always had traits, his gaelic background helps him with his vision, cleanliness, hand skills, he's learnt over time with footy iq and kicking which i would say is at a good enough level, but his athletic stand point of strength, speed, agility, height, endurance all being in the top rung he was going to make it as a mid when the move was made. Personally more annoyed it was at times him being misused, but also the fact they stuck with him through poor patches (even as a pure mid) and it was this year where he's really taken it on and started to dominate games.

Reeves the same, great set of hands, great tap ruck at winning it but also his ability to tap to teammates advantages is very good, and with a better endurance base, his around the ground work will sky rocket.

So Nash is elite at three sports?

Remarkable to think that arguably our best midfield is Reeves, Newcombe, Day, Nash and not one of them were in our midfield two years ago.

Pick 13 + 3 rookies.

4th best clearance differential in the league.

Neither were Ward, Mackenzie, Amon and MacDonald (though he hasn't really moved into the midfield yet).

It's been a complete revamping.

Terrible luck for Lynch and hope he's ok but we are now down a ruck so we are an injury away to Reeves/Meek to being in a similar position as last year. Unless there is another stand out prospect do we look at bringing in Naismith in the MSD? I know he's 30yo but he's a big (206cm, 108kg) aggressive unit whose career has been blighted by injury but he can play. It's important for our exciting and emerging midfield that they are supported by decent ruckmen. Not that I'm comparing him to Salmon but we brought him at 30yo. Just putting it out there.

Also pretty nuts how a midfield of Day, Newcombe, Nash, Worpel and Ward coached by David Hale is street's ahead of Tom Mitchell and Jaeger O'Meara coached by Robert Harvey.

You’d think the hawks have a target in mind for the future, but wouldn’t they have taken that player in the pre season

However taking a 30 plus yo player would be good for all the triggering of the usual a media muppets
