Pendles needs to get real and realise no one aside from himself cares about his kid. Was so embarrassing when he brought that up in the press conference. Hurn would have rolled his eyes.

If he didn't have a cold today or Jax didn't keep him up... then he's on the downhill as far as the midfield is concerned.

Think the pace of the game has caught up with him making more and more panicky fumbles/errant kicks.

He also refuses to put his body on the line and try run through blokes or hit in aggressively like eagles mids did vs him to win contested ball. Think he got away with it when younger due to his skills where as now it looks a bit twinkle toes.

Still a gun in general but yeah wasnt his best game.

That last quarter where he stood back and watched darling mark was telling

He was extremely slow today and didn't seem interested in getting involved with much body contact considering the importance of the game. That's not leadership material in my opinion. He needs a new role and we need to move forward with a new captain whether it is next year or in 2020.

Maynard to midfield > Pendles to HB next year although Maynard needs to build tank up this preseason.

Not sure Pendles has the wheels for def full time unless playing a loose sweeping role which will be hard with the new 6/6/6 rules.

Imo has to be used 60/40 mid/fwd. Still a good mid but look to reduce minutes imo

Extremely disappointed with pendlebury today, he has been our best player for about a decade, but the end is coming.
He has been poor this year, I truly feel he doesn’t have the drive anymore.
Needs to relinquish the captaincy.

I'm not sure he has scope to play anywhere but mid or half back. He's terrible in the air. I love the bloke but he's limited as far as positions go. If he's too slow for HB he's in trouble. But maybe it is just that first year of parenthood. It's really tough. Baby's don't care if you have a game the next day.

He can still play on a wing and rotate through as the fifth midfielder in stoppages. You don’t lose your smarts as a player. He can still find the footy and bring others into the game.

Not his best today, but he still had a good year and would rather him in the 22 than out of it.

Personally thought his year was well down on HIS standard and even quite a few quiet average games thrown in.

Been an absolute champion of our club and still has plenty of quality footy in him but imo definitely needs a change to h8s game.

May not have played to his normal lofty standards this year, but was still good. Still has plenty of good footy in him.

He used to stop time.
Now he is just slowing it down.
Still has at least a couple of good years in him, but he should not be the player we are relying on.
Good news is that others are stepping up to the plate.

Will be interesting to see how we utilise him in the coming years.

As for the captaincy. That's for the players and for him to decide.
Maxy new when to pass the baton on. I'm sure Pendles will as well.

He’s basically what Ablett is to Geelong. Good player but well and truly past it as far as being in the mid is concerned.
He’s not that useless.
