As soon as the trading is done, the next-big ticket item for the AFL is the release of next year's fixture and we expect the full release some time next week.

The League likes to let a few items of note trickle out in the lead-up and the first is that the pre-finals bye will remain and that the finals will start on the weekend of September 7-10.

No real arguments here. The just completed finals were the best for years, so little wonder the AFL wants to replicate the lead-up once again.
