Jack Williams made a brief appearance at training this morning slowly walking a few laps

Rotham joined him for a couple. Had a hard plastic cast from just below the elbow to his wrist. I’m guessing the fracture might have towards the lower end of the scale

Some people say he should be retiring
Nic Nat had some trouble with Jumping
He’s taken time off to do the right thing
Gonna give the roos a good thumping

Hasn’t it already been confirmed that he’s not playing the first few games?

By channel 9 who didn’t quote a source as there’s been nothing official from the club so they were just guessing

FWIW, I don’t think they’ll risk him. Would be a good chance for GWS though

To be fair to Nine, if they had to wait for official word from the club they’d have no content to report.

So from a squad of 44, there were 27 players who could accurately be described as doing the whole session from start to finish.

As mentioned, Naitanui did his own thing as he manages an Achilles injury. He looks ok but the absence of any lateral or sustained running has to be a red flag for a round 1 start.

Other than that -
• JWilliams walked a handful of laps so at least he’s back at the club
• Rotham joined him for one or two laps. Had his arm in a cast but didn’t look to be carrying it awkwardly. Might not be out for too long
• Baker was doing run throughs to begin then joined line work later
• Then there was a large group (Waterman, Allen, Duggan, Shuey, LEdwards, Chesser, Petruccelle, Darling, BWilliams, Bazzo, Culley, Hurn and Jamieson) who came out a bit later as a group did some low intensity work then wandered off early.
• Two exceptions to that were Chesser and Petch who walked laps only
• Darling looked fine with in the limited work he did. Good chance he’ll play
• No sign of any issue with Bailey Williams but he wasn’t extended in anything he did
• Barrass trained fully putting to rest any concerns prematurely raised last week
• Allen did a significant amount of goal kicking practice
• Barnett the only ruck to do the whole session so good that he should be close to getting some game minutes in the WAFL practice matches

Unlike last year, we have good availability going into R1 with only Naitanui the only first choice player likely to miss plus a handful of other more fringe players- Rotham, BWilliams, Bazzo, JWilliams etc.

Those that do play will be fit so from that POV it’s been successful preseason

Can confirm all of the above, not much to add to that.

Of that large group you mentioned, Allen was the only one of them who stayed out for more than half an hour. After those guys left he stayed out for another 30-40 minutes indeed doing a lot of set shot practice and doing a couple of things with the forwards group.

Hough and Baker trained with the defenders when they split into line groups, so seems like the club still sees Hough's main position as half-back as opposed to wing. Baker played mostly as a wing in his draft year too. Though the mids were doing stoppage drills so it's possible they just sent the outside mids to practice with the backs who were doing kicking drills.

A few of the smaller forwards (Jones, Long, SPS) participated in a couple of stoppages with the mids. Thought Jones looked particularly good when he was in there.

Nice to see Dewar and Barnett training fully today, you'd think both get minutes in the WAFL practice game on Saturday. Baker doesn't look too far off returning either.

Was Culley there?

Part of the group of about 15 that came out late and left early.

In the limited work he did looked to be moving fine but it wasn’t strenuous
