Worrell's defensive work hasn't really come on. He's always been a good 3rd tall/interceptor but I thought he'd round out his game and be able to defend genuine key forwards by now. Even the fact that he wasn't considered for the Jeremy Caneron role is a worry.

He panics and holds in marking contests.
He's a bit Keane-like in that regard I agree, but the fact he wasnt considered for the role by our moron coaches isnt anything against him.

Still angry but changes needed

Butts in, Dawson back and Laird to Sub.
We need the big defender and Butts it is. Frees up others to do their thing. Our defense is leaking and the captain isn't having an effect in the middle so he moves to HB with Laird to Sub role.

Sholl and O'Brien out - McAndrew in

Curtin shifts to wing

Middle needs to have Draper in there, with Keays also running in there at times along with Curtin.

On notice
Hinge - pull your head in and do the little right
ANB - not enough
Draper and Curtin - not being positioned correctly and not doing enough

I thought Nibbler was good again, bit like Cumming, what he did was very good.

I'd also like to see him play through the middle a bit.

It’s a trait of ours, Keane does it everytime too.

I know it's going to be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think Dawson should attend as many centre bounces as he does. He has the highest CBA attendance of any of our midfielders (excepting ROB), but doesn't seem as effective as other options in that role. He hasn't got breakaway speed (he has a high cruising speed, but not great acceleration), he hasn't got elite hands for one touch takes and he hasn't got the agility to step around people or provide great defensive efforts when the opposition gets that ball. He's not a bull who bursts through tackles and his disposal under pressure isn't great. Put him in the middle with Crouch and you have two players who lack real agility.

Dawson's strengths are his ability to accumulate, his overhead marking, his disposal when out in the open, his gut running and willingness to put his body on the line to impact a contest. You certainly want him running through the middle to link up and set up play, but he could do this from a wing or half back. Personally, I'd drop his CBA attendances from the current 80% to maybe 50%, and avoid having him and Crouch in the middle together unless we're totally pantsing an opposition.
Agree with your comments, he's just not impacting in the middle. 2 clearances is not good enough, moved to HB

Jesse Hogan is gonna kick 6+ goals

He can move to wing to replace Sholl. Cumming/Dawson left/right wings: elite.

I don't think Cumming has been anything close to elite on the Wing.

We gave him a massive 6 year deal and he has come in and averages 14 disposals and has not been damaging at all. He has done a few nice things, but has had very little impact so far.

He played his best footy as a rebounding defender with the Giants and he isn't performing well on the wing for us.

Get out Milera, move Nank up the ground and put Cumming at Half Back across from Hinge.

That is absolute rubbish. Cumming has been the quiet achiever, rarely making mistakes, and with an elite penetrating kick that he troubles to direct to teammates. Without his kicking last night, we would have scored far fewer goals.

I can appreciate how you might miss this, since he is undemonstrative, but I suggest rewatching the game and keeping an eye on him.

He was almost perfect by foot last night.

Missed the last one late in the game, but it was over by then.

Out:
Sholl - Three poor weeks in a row and we can see what he offers in high-pressure games. He ain't it.
R.O.B - Embarrassing performance
Peatling - Likely suspension
Keane - Someone has to make way for Butts

In:
Dowling
McAndrew
Pedlar
Butts

Realistically, with no SANFL, we're not going to make many unforced changes and R.O.B won't be dropped. Sholl I think is as good as given he was subbed out quite early.

Have any of our players performed well in the wing role this year?

Cumming would be miles ahead of Sholl so far if we're comparing the main ones. Just doesn't seem like our gameplan uses them well

It doesn't, our primary aim on rebound 50s, at least from kick ins, is to go long to the wing with the intent of one of the tall forwards to mark the ball. We prefer to play through the wings in terms of the spot on the ground, but don't use the wingmen to play in it.

He's never been a KPD.
