I wouldn't rest him this week, not with his record against Port, plus their garbage defence won't be able to handle all of Tex, Fog and Thilthorpe. If we rest him before the bye I'd rest him the West Coast game.
The last time we played the three headed monster against Port, we overwhelmed them and won by 7+ goals. 2023 R20.

Tex had a quiet game and kicked 7+

One of my all-time favourite Tex goals :D

Although it probably made it easier to kick a bag on Aliir given he was playing concussed and Port ignored the protocols.

The West Coast game is in 3 weeks. But yes, the West Coast game is the obvious choice if its just before the bye.

Actually, on further consideration I'd probably rest him for the Collingwood game. Same him a flight, and give us a smaller player eg Pedlar who can provide more run when playing up the ground and more forward pressure when inside 50. Tex can play against West Coast - assuming no injuries we can sub him off once we get 10 goals up.

This is one of my GOAT Tex goals. I remember crying tears of joy, I started to believe in a miracle.

After this Tex bomb from 55m, we led at HT in the 2012 Prem Final, going in as massive underdogs.

Clutch goals definitely carry much more weighting too.

I don't think Tex will be rested. Might be the starting sub a few times. They'll want to do everything to get him to 300 games and he needs to play nearly every game from here to make it
He is on 285, if I am not mistaken if he plays every game from here, he will play his 300th vs North in R23.

He really could have got closer to the man on the mark there. Holy shit that was a long kick.

Yeah, given the fact it was a PF and putting us in front that was a good 'un.

But left foot, 50m out on the boundary line beats it :p

Thinking about this makes your head spin a bit lol.

I'm sure Tex will go to Burgess and say "hey I'm feeling cooked" at some point

We have such a tricky draw.. The round 22 game against West Coast is looking like a great rest game lol.
