I didn’t have Smith in my Round 1 2024 side (let alone 2025) and would never have selected him today.

Having said that, Nank absolutely goes out before Smith for a Showdown after today. Nank is out of form and is an easy drop tbh.

Nank the wing/half forward is pretty crap, not sure he's out of form as a half back, given we haven't played him there. TT and Fog probably wouldn't be AFL quality if we played them out of position at full back.

Hinge has to come in. I suspect that Nank will be gone. It will be a tough game next week, so I would think that Berry would be a good player to keep in. Smith has done well in past showdowns too, apart from the last one, from memory, so I suspect they will leave him in the side for this game at least. He did not have a poor game today, after all.

Not a bad idea, but Nicks will feel vindicated for selecting Smith and he's not a horses-for-courses kinda Coach.
While Murray is out, with Hinge back he will retain Smith and drop Nankervis (as others have said)

One thing I've noticed about Nank is almost every time he gets the ball he tries to take on a tackler. Usually by trying to spin out of it which results in someone else tackling him and him either giving away a free or a wild handball to get rid of it. Looks like he is trying to show he can evade everyone rather than do the simple pass each time. Has happened multiple times a game the last few weeks
