Rowan Marshall will remain a Saint until the end of 2027, finalising a five-year deal with the club today.

Was absolutely in doubt. Saints have worked hard with Roh's camp who although had other substantial offers wanted to work a deal out to stay.

Would have to say the length of the deal means it is quite a bit less than the others but 5 years is good security.
Saints were prepared to trade him if a deal that benefits both parties couldn't be reached.
Suffice to say sounds like both parties have negotiated in good faith, Saints with length, Roh with $$$$.

Been one of my favourite players every since the boy from Portland was announced.

Lets hope he doesn't join the salary crew and plays like he always does with Passion and Pride.

No longer the Prospect, he's genuine great ruck and multi-dimensional player.

Great news (as long as his injury issues don't escalate). I'm hoping that we see more of Marshall in the ruck with Ryder playing the second tall forward/backup ruck role for the rest of the year.

Paddy seems to be running out of steam and Marshall clearly is a better ruck than forward.

At 26 a 5 year contract extension pretty much locks him in as a Saint for life, a big win for the club when ruck/forwards like him are in hot demand.

I like your thinking but he was almost the quintessential utility.

I remember him against Hawthorn (2008?) in the game where McEvoy kicked a late winner along the ground for us - he turned the game on it's head when he went in to the ruck in the 3rd quarter did Blakey. Pretty sure he kicked 3 too.

Great stuff. Would love to know the $$$ but l expect it's under control. Row seems like a genuine DAF county footballer. Real salt of the earth type.
Hopefully he gets back to form soon and for the remaining 5 years.
