We'll be without Lynch, Nank, Kmac, Prestia, Short etc., Vlastuin and Broad would have another year left at best (I doubt Broad is good enough) and Hopper, TT will be even slower and over-mature for midfielders. While a lot of those senior players aren't great compared to other clubs' senior players, they still make up like 8 of our 10 best players this year.

It's unreasonable to expect a draft crop in their third year to replace that.

Most here aren’t rating what lynch, kmac, meatball, short an hopper are doing atm, so perhaps not too much hurt coming, and I’m not sure I buy the “big guys take longer” by 3rd year if they are good they’re good

We will need another year after this year of a top 4 draft pick and we will get it. When you consider that Prestia, hopper, short and maybe McIntosh are still best 23 - we still have a bit of backward step left before enough young guys get better

We just lost Bolton, Baker, Rioli, Dusty, Grimes, Picket and Graham in the off season and yet we've still taken a step forward this season.

And that improvement was essentially not on the back on our draft haul from this year. Lalor contributed early on, Trainor has a bit, Faul too. But overall our improvement has been from previous drafts of guys like Brown, Banks and Campbell.

So we still have essentially the last entire draft + Gibcus + 2 top 5 draft picks upcoming to add onto what we did this year.

Terrible performance but was probably due one like that. Vlaustin the stand out yet again, good eg today of why we need to keep hitting top end of the draft for mids - hopefully pick up 2 of Sharp, Greeves, Lindsay or Cumming. Hopefully only a medial for Jonty.
